I am home
well I am home form the hospital.. I weathered the ride home alright.. and since I have been home I am feeling much better.. in fact I have even eaten something.. granted that is just some water mellon.. but it tasted like ambrosia to me.. I could not get food to go down right.. now maybe I have a chance to get this water weight gone.. it is terrible that I weigh 25 lbs more yesterday at the hospital than the day I went into the hospital
I highly recommend Dr Deveney.. he is a great surgeon.. and very nice also.. even though I did not get the have the surgery lap..it was still nicely done.. and only hurts a little..
there are alot oif wonderful people there at the hospital that took care of me.. but there were times.. but I do not want to go there..
one of my biggest problems was food.. I could not eat it. it was far to acidic.. or sweet.. so I did not eat.. which makes lack of weight loss even stranger..
I had a difficult time sleeping last night but with very very slpw trial and error. I found a way.. which will make it easier tonight..
I will write more later..
thank you all for you kind words and thoughts.. they worked.. bless you ..
hi renee,
so glad your home..
I was told by someone else that it's common to gain weight while in the hospital.. it's not actual weight as it is bloating and retaining water from all the IV, junk, and shock to your system.. I think I gained weight too but I am not sure as I was so out of it and I didn't own a scale at home.. they had a scale on my bed and I remember my youngest son gasping at the numbers and then said them.. the nurse went over and turned it off. (he was only 12 at the time, not that he wouldn't still blurt something out.. BOYS.. ugghhhh) I "kinda" remember thinking the scales were broke or something.. LOL.. NOT!!!
anyway hope your doing well and taking it easy..
Theresa
I can relate to every word.
I had Dr. Deveney, too, and it was the best decision I could have made.
Did you know that he was a liver transplant surgeon before he did WLS? That is a fantastic accomplishment. Far more difficult than WLS.
I lived on miso soup when I came home from hospital.
best to you.

I know what you mean I couldn't put the loose stretch pants on that I wore to the hospital to come home or the stretch shorts I alway wear around the house for more than a week after I came home.
The pump you full of fluids in the hospital and my bladder hurt so bad I could barely urinate even a very tiny bit. They weighed me a couple of times because I could not urinate much.
Once I got home and relaxed and my bladder quit hurting I dropped the water weight like magic, now if only they used that weight as my beginning weight boy would i have lost a lot of weight the first 3 weeks.
I also didn't and still don't like sweet much or milk and the first three weeks all protein drinks are sweet, but I found some fruit flavored powder to mix in water. I got so sick of sweet I thought I would die. Cottage cheese was ambrosia after my 3 week checkup and I can eat pureed meats and cottage cheese. On Monday I get to eat finely diced meats - Yippee

So good to hear from you Renee, and I'm so happy you are home! I say go for the Miso soup and I hope you are feeling 100% very soon!
As for the water weight, I have no idea how much I weighed afterwards since they didn't have a scale that went up high enough when I was in Mexico, so all I know is what I had lost a week later. Take heart - it will come off!!!
Glad to see you around.
