Measurements

Well, I'm about 16 hours from surgery (but whose counting ). So I'm doing last minute things, running around like a lunatic , trying to keep my mind busy and not dwell on things. So I decided to take my measurements--which made me even MORE determined to go through with this surgery! My husband was helping me and we got to laughing and I said---well, that's a LONG way from being the 36-26-36 I was at one point in my life--of course, I was on pablum then. Just kidding--at the age of about 15 through 18 ****il I got pregnant with my daughter) I was pretty darn cute. Then, it all went downhill. But, everyone, I'm getting ready to climb that hill again. Now I'm not silly enough to think I will ever be the above-mentioned measurements again but I would really like to just be able to go into a store and head for the misses department rather than the women's department. I can vaguely remember doing that and I want it to happen again. So that's the way my day has gone. I've been very reflective and I've had some of the most wonderful e-mails from people and I so appreciate them. Have a nice evening and I will posting again soon. Pam

hey pam, I took my measurements last night too... I didn't keep good records on that.. I wish I would have. I didn't start taking them until I was 4 months out.. well by that time you've lost quite a bit of inches. also another hint that I didnt' even think about or know about.. be sure to take your wrist, ankle, foot, and neck measurement.. when people say how many total inches they've lost I always wonder if they included those inches too. I hope you get to see your 36/26/36 frame again.. I'm close.. if it weren't for this dam waist line!! (or better yet "NO" waist line) mine came out to 37/31/36... i guess it's time to really get my ass going and do some sit ups.. YUK.. good luck tomarrow.. will be thinking of you Theresa

I'm terrified to take measurements! Never took them before or after. I really do not want to know how many inches a size 14 is on a very small boned, under 5 foot frame! Guess it's time for me to get back to the gym! Or maybe more dancing would help? I remember I was 32/19/25 in high school. I have no intentions of getting back to that, but I Would like to get into the 'average' BMI category. This damn sugar demon keeps attacking me! Tammy

Measurements are a great thing to have! For those times when the lbs. aren't coming off, it shows you that you're still making progress.....you're rearranging and compacting! I wish you the very best of luck! I'm sure everything will go smoothly....they really have it all down to an art! Where is your surgery, and at what time? You're in my prayers! Michele

Well that is one way to keep your mind off surgery! Congratulations on making it to the other side, btw. I'm a day late and a dollar short, but better late than never, huh? I never have measured myself since I started this journey. ::sigh:: I am too darned lazy. Either that or I don't want to face the music. I think it's more the latter. When I get close to 36-26-38 (I know I'll always be bottom heavy!) I'll start measuring again! LOL! Dina
