Ok, anybody been? Did you do the normal dinner or the comedy or murder mystery nights? What do you think? I have been giving thought to taking my man on a dinner trip for his birthday, but want some feedback before investing that much money! LOL Brandi

My wife and I did a Sunday brunch a few years ago for our aniversary. It was just a normal train ride and was very beautiful and nice.

brandi, do they have a web sight?? send me the link please.. I want to go look at this. I am torn between the murder mystery and the comedy.. I think this sounds fun as hell. Couldn't care less about the meal.. not becuase of WLS but becuase I have been on dinner cruises and they are all pretty much the same. in hawaii, I was on a dinner cruise and feeling a bit sick from the water/motion as it was and I am taking a bite of my salad when I look down and see a ummmmmm worm/maggot thingy... I haven't eaten a thing on them cruises since. it was probably just a fluke but I still can't do it.. I have never been on the dinner train but the entertainment sounds awesome. do they list the prices on the web sight.. oh hell I am gonna go see if I can find it.. let us know if you go.. I WANT DETAILS.. LOL Theresa

Brandi, I did the one out of Redmond to Prineville. It was a hoot! It was a murder mystery....wild west style. They did require a little bit of interaction from the guests, but not too much, it was well scripted. Plus...I was one of the few who figured it out! I know it's not the same as up on Hood, but just to let you know. Probably just depends on what you're looking for regular dinner...could be romantic and relaxing comedy.....fun murder mystery....if there's a lot of comedy in it, could be fun like mine was. I've also been to two "Murder Mystery Dinner" events at hotels and they were lame. I didn't find them much fun and my friend was in one of them, didn't help. BTW....I sent my pre-op weight pics to OH to be posted, but they aren't showing up yet. Hopefully, when I get back from vacation, I'll be able to sit at the 'puter long enough to really do my update. Everytime I see yours posts, it's a friendly reminder that I need to update, lol! I'd also like to get my "high weight" photo, the one I always carry with me scanned for the site as well. Take care......I'm off to Canada to sun my buns! Michele

Brandi, I've only rode the train with a school group. Asume it has a different feel as a romantic outing. I don't know if you guys are hikers, but there is an incredible walk alond the river the train travels along. After about 1/2 mile of walking along the tracks the train moves up ontop of a 8 foot diameter pipe. (technicaly a penstock carrying water from the dam to the powerhouse). It becomes a nice stroll along a very safe catwalk overlooking the Hood River. The walking is easy, the view is incredible and about 1/2 way up the pipe leaks giving a cool fountain spray that you can walk through. Here is a link that talks about it and has some pictures. It's intended for Geocachers (nerds like me w/ GPS recievers going on scavenger hunts) but the info should get you there no problem. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=4428ecf7-8d19-44c4-992d-b2498b513a91 It is a very nice walk on a hot day. The catwalk is way safe. I don't do heights and edges and felt very comfortable. Jus****ch the train on the first bit or you'll be Mt. Hood roadkill (track kill). You could probably work up an appitite then ride the train. Just an idea, Scott
