New on the message boards, but not really new to the site :)

My husband had Open RNY 7/12/2004 and I am scheduled for 8/3/2004. I am to the point I just want it over. My husband hasn't had any problems so far which is a great sign to me, cause if anyone would have them it would be him. Just wanted to say hi Maryanne

Hi Maryanne, Glad your husband came out of surgery okay. I live in the Eugene area and grew up in Cottage Grove so it is nice to find someone who lives sort of around my area. I had the lapband done 5/8/04 and have been really happy with it. Everything has gone smoothly and I healed fine. Down 46 lbs in 10.5 weeks. Hi Maryanne. Nice to read your message. You and your husband will soon be up and dancing as the weight comes off both of you. I had an open RNY due to stomach cancer on April 27th, and even though it's been a tougher haul for me, I am so glad I had the surgery and that I am losing weight. 47 lbs so far. I went shopping with a friend I haven't seen in a year, and it was so great to be able to keep up with her. Walking is actually fun again. Having this surgery is giving me back my life in so many ways. Good luck to both you and your husband. Peggy
