I love the Oregon Boardies...
I just was thinking about how I really have immensely enjoyed the group that has formed here. I know some of you have been around for awhile and I just now feel like I'm getting to know you, but others are newer and I feel like I'm kind of a new kid in town also. It's just really a great bunch of folks and I would love to get a chance to meet you all....all you northerners!
We *have* to all get together sometime....even if we have to meet in the middle! And yes, ROAD TRIP 2004 - if you all want to plan one down here to Medford, I'll have the pool all sparkling and ready for you and the BBQ fired up!

Me too, Dinka,
everyone has been a great help to me during my journey. i am now 5 days post op, and having a pretty smooth sailing so far.
the ole protein and water dilema is my bigest problem. That, and talking myself out of finding out where hubby hid the scales! I told him to hide em, but ...............................I probably should'nt weight myself anyway, as I am sitll pretty puffy and probably hold ing water & air weight. I don't feel any slimmer, and I know It is way too soon anyway. so, I will continue to talk myslef out of hunting down those scales! I will try to hold out for the doctor in about 2 weeks.
some Portlanders ahve already started a group athat includes spouses or friiends or newbeies. They had met last week in Oregon City. It is Theresa (origanally from florida) who is the one putting it together. I would love to go to one, too eventually!
Joan -
Believe me: I KNOW what it is like to be a scale junkie. As long as a person doesn't let it depress them during plateaus (I went through that too) I don't see the big whoop. Everyone keeps telling me to back away from the scale, but I gotta say - when I don't weigh I find myself able to be more lax with what I put in my mouth. I need that scale for accountability!

I have to agree with you Dina. Although I am fairly new to this board, seems to be a nice community. I really did enjoy meeting a portion of this group a couple of weeks ago and hope to attend more "gatherings" in the future.
BTW, I would love to come on down to Medford. But, I would have to bring my 3 brats with me (oops, I mean lovely angels).
