insurance again

Ok I looked up lifewise and bc/bs and niether on cover the surgery. Can someone please give me some advise on a good medical plan. I am a single woman who will be paying for this insurance on my own. thanks in advance.

Melissa - I'm not sure of who covers but I know of a few. Kaiser covers if your bmi is over 50, so it looks like you would qualify. BCBS Federal pays - so if you work for the Forest Svc, Post Office, etc, you can get it. I'm pretty sure Aetna and Cigna pay, but I'm not positive. Seems I've heard it mentioned before. Oh and I am pretty sure Providence medical pays, so if you worked for Providence hospital or any other organization that has them you'd likely be covered. I have UnitedHealthcare and I have not seen one post that denied WLS. And they have approved DS. I don't know if they offer "individual" coverage. Michele

I searched around online and I didnt' find a record of your insurance company paying for the procedure, but don't give up hope. My company has no record either and it even clearly states it as an exclusion. The Dr's office still thinks it might go through.. Don't give up!! -Wendy P.S. Wendy - eventually the photo team will add it on. You can email them if you want to see if they can expedite it. BTW - am I the only one that thinks Wendy will be a dead ringer for Reese Witherspoon (or at least her sister) one day??? Dina

I know I posted this before but now I can't remember the name of the insurance company, but I've seen before that the power and utility companies have insurance that covers WLS. There are also several medical loan companies that will help you self pay. Good Luck Tammy
