Beaverton Support Group Meeting
The Beaverton meeting will have an added twist-like an extra benefit. As in "but wait! There's more!" It slices! It dices! Well...maybe that's NOT the best choice of phrases...oh well. So Dr John Rabkin will be in town on Weds May 12th, our meeting night. He will be holding an informational meeting in our room at 6pm to 7pm for anyone considering a surgical option. Includes family and support people. If you know someone that could benefit, please let them know of this meeting! We will start our meeting at 7pm as usual. We will do intros all around, then open it up for postop questions. I ask that you write down your questions- one question per sheet please. I know that each answer will spawn more clarifying questions and we will deal with it as it happens. Hopefully we will have some time for sharing. Sharing has always made this meeting what it is! So just in case we don't get as much sharing time as we would like, let's go to the Red Robin afterwards. Those of us that can, anyway..

The Beaverton Support group is held at the Beaverton Resource Center at the corners of Hall and Allen Blvds.
Hi Julie,
No - last I heard he was doing GI surgeries and bariatrics. His Dad, is the famous Dr. Robert Rabkin.
I personally don't attend this group - but know several who do, so I'm not sure if they have many RNY post-ops attending or not.
Barbara Metcalf is probably the person you should contact - if you go to www.duodenalswitch.com, click on the Surgeons tab, and then California link, and you can scroll down to Dr. Rabkin's contact info - there's a hyperlink there for Barbara's email address.
Hope that helps!
Blessings,
dina
