Insurance company denial!!!!`

Hey my fellow amos, I had my consult with Dr. Patterson about 3 weeks ago and started her lovely diet of cottage cheese(which I don't eat) tuna, salad, and fresh veggies. Oh yea lets top that off with balsamic vineger or salsa or mustard. Oh yea and the morning protien drink. After about 11 days of this I recieved a call from Cami who works with the insurance companies that I have been denied. I was a little broken that Cigna HMO has said no and now I must begin the appeals process. Anyone have any ideas? It is so frustrating to deal with these people who know nothing about you yet can make life decisions for you. I have also started a file with Dr. Dally in Washington. Does anyone know any other Dr. in the local area that work out of a Providence hospital? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Andrea

Andrea - I wish you luck with your insurance co. It sounds like they do cover it sometimes, so that is 90% of the battle, IMO. The rest is just jokeying for position. My insurance just flat out doesn't pay so I'm off to Mexico. As for appeals processes, I don't have any great advice for you, but I'm sure there are others here and elsewhere that have experience with that. Keep us posted! Dina
