Im still waiting to hear from my Dr. to schedule a consultation appointment. Im worried that My Celluilitis will come back. I was in the Hespital for 5 days last Oct. while visiting in Cal. Each time i get it , it will be worse than the time before. The celluilitis is from my being over weight .

So why dont you take the initiave and do it yourself? Is it your primary doctor who is scheduling a consult w/a surgeon for you? Do you need a referral or something? My insurance lets me self refer... so I was able to contact the surgeon I had chosen (he is in Kirkland, Washington) and I was able to get in for a consultation the next week.....I'm now waiting for approval. It sounds like you need to light a little fire under your doc. I decided to have the surgery done in Wash. because it takes so long to get in for a consultation here in Portland...I've been waiting long enough, and my health sounds kinda like yours, I had a bout of Cellulitis last fall too, and it seems like things (with my health) get worse each day.... all done waiting, I am. Good thing I am a "take charge" kind of person by nature.. some people might read that as "pushy".... take care, good luck, and dont wait quite so patiently....

What Dr. are you trying to get into? I'm just starting this process and would like an idea of what the wait time is. My husband and I have an informational meeting w/ Dr. Devenney on March 22 and the person that scheduled it said that she usually sets up an appointment with a nurse practitioner at that time if you are still interested, she said that those appointments were usually about a week out. Now we have both already had sleep studies (using CPAP machines), I have a psychiatrist that is willing to give me the Psych test if the Dr. will let him, and my sister is a registared dietition(but I am guessing he will want his own dietition to talk to me). So I don't think that it should take long to get the "tests" done. How long do you have to wait to get a consult with the Dr.? Julie
