Portland area support meetings?

Anyone know of any upcoming Portland area meetings coming up? I am almost 7 months post op and have not been to any sort of support meeting so far, but am feeling like I need to. I know there is something in McMinnville, but i am in Gresham, and that is just tooooo far for me to drive! Anyone?

OHSU is going to have two a month one day and one evening, The third Tue 630-800pm at Center for Health and Healing June 17th rm 3181 And June 11th or July 11th 1000-1130am I can not tell for sure from my chicken scratches. Thanks for your response...I don't know if this is something that I can attend since I did not have my surgery at OHSU? Does anyone know? It was good to pay self pay, but bad in some other ways...like this.

I got the feeling that they OHSU just wanted to support people. My wife and I attended them and we were still attempting to jump the insurance hoops, I just called asked when and showed up There is no way they even track who is a past patient.

Thank you all for your suggestions...it looks like I need to make a few phone calls and follow up. I am also curious if there are any groups not affiliated with any hospital--just a bunch of post ops wanting to share stories and give support that way. Do these things happen anywhere?

Hi, Barb, I saw your post and I had my lapband surgery the same day as you with Dr Tesigni.. I thought that was kind of neat.. I haven't been to a support group either since I live in Seaside and its quite a drive... I hope that you find one close to where you live I hear they are very motivating.. gabby

Hi Gabby! how crazy is that we had surgery on the same day at the same place?! You are the second person that I have met online that shares my bandiversary and used Dr Tersigni! How are you doing with your band?! I love mine, but still struggle with "head hunger" and make myself sick sometimes....but I am not complaining at all!! Thanks for the greetings! Barb
