Hi this is Kathy and I have started my pre-op diet. My surgery is the 29th. I went to little or no carbs as of Saturday. I am starving! :( I still have a big stomach, and just protein is not filling it up. I have been starting my day with a protein shake and adding a few fresh strawberries and some Dannons FF-SF yogurt. I did not realize how addicted to carbs I am. Last night I had a hamburger patty and lots of broccoli and that satisfied my for a little while but it has been the only thing. This is hard....any ideas?? Thanks, Kathy How will I make it threw a week of just liquids???

LOL!  You'll make it, you know you can. Idid the pre-op diet for a month before surgery.  I did cheat occasionally, like when I was in Hawaii, but I lost 12 lbs pre-op.  Is it your Dr. requiring the pre-op diet?  I'm assuming it is.  I wish you the best and know this, for a while after surgery, you'll have a hard time just getting the liquid in.  Enjoy every sip now! Keep us posted. Nola

Hello Kathy, I am on my pre-op as well.  I have an added difficulty, in that I will be attending a professional conference (with meals included).  I have a game plan to approach the meals and I am optimistic for the conference both professionally and physically.  I will see some family during the conference so that could be good or bad on the diet front. To get down in weight and after my first consult I implemented the pre-op diet and did okay.  I now find myself not overly excited about protein shakes and yogurt. I know it will only be for a short period of time. Good luck and know we are in this together. Reynold
