Got word from Ann T at OHSU that my wife Linda has cleared the hurdle for submitting for insurance . My it was a long year wait to fulfill Regence BC /BS requirement of a year supervised weight loss. It took OHSU 4 days to review the charts. Not Bad.  We are sitting here this evening again going over the life changes that are in store for us. I do most of the cooking . Time to start looking at this as it could be sooner rather than later. This is an emotional rollercoaster as well. Stay in the moment enjoying each moment  what ever comes my way. May you all enjoy this weekend

Hi I am Linda,  My husband Chujo is so very excited for me.  I am beginning to believe that I might actually get this surgery.  It has been a long year wait.  I had to have one year supervised weight management with my physician before I could be submitted to insurance for approval.  I finally completed that hurdle and now OHSU has finally reviewed and submited to Insurance for authroization.  It has been a real battle to keep fighting for this surgery.  My sister had her bypass a year ago and is almost at goal.  I have another sister who had lap band last summer and is doing great.  I am now ready to start the path to finally be rid of this excess body weight.  Just keep doing this one day at a time and it will happen.  Thanks for listening.  Linda

Hi Linda!  Congratulations on getting everything submitted for insurance.  Hopefully, you'll hear in about a week whether you are approved or not.  Even though the wait with OHSU can be frustrating, they generally make sure they have everything in order when then submit it to insurance so you can get your approval.  This surgery is really an amazing thing.  I'm hoping to get at least another 30 pounds off, but I'll be okay if I stay right where I am. Hi Linda! I met you and Chujo at the Village Inn restaurant recently, but we didn't talk much. Glad to see that Chujo is very excited for you as the two of you await word on the insurance authorization hurdle.  Hopefully your insurance will give you the green light to proceed with the surgery. By the way, what kind of surgery are you considering?  I understand that Lori and Deanna talked to you about their surgeries at the restaurant. Best of luck on your journey!

Thanks for the encouraging words.  I am feel excited and nervous.  Not sure what to expect.  A year ago when I started this progress I was so excited now I have been in wait mode for a year  it is hard to think it really will happen.  I guess when the approval happens then I will switch gears again.
