Eugenes' Sacred Heart Hospital

Hi everyone, I recieved a call from Sacred Heart Hosp. that they were calling people on there waiting list for surgery ,for they now have there Merit of Excellance, and are ready to start taking Medicare patients. I have already had mine in portland last June . Good news for everyone else that has been waiting. Jo Ann

Good news indeed, but tempered with the fact that another of their doctors is leaving.  Dr. Umbach is leaving Eugene.  They still have Dr. Yarborough though.  I hope they will be able to recruit another surgeon or two. Linda

Congratulations to Sacred Heart Hospital for being added to Medicare's approved facilities as of 1/23/2008!  The hospital now joins OHSU and Legacy Good Sam on the same list. Several of my relatives in Eugene have been hospitalized there and have gotten excellent care. The hospital does Eugene proud!

So true Vicki!  I, unfortunately, have been in Sacred Heart more times than I would like to say.  I have always received the best care there.  They are very thorough and have some great nurses.  I've never felt neglected while staying as a patient. Linda

That is great news for the Eugene/Springfield area.  A much needed facility.  I wish I could have had my surgery completed locally, but was pleased with Dr. Patterson.  Just wish Portland wasn't so far away.   And then, just wait until Sacred Heart moves into their new facility, Riverbend in August, it should be one of the most up to date facilities.  Can hardly wait.....not that I use Sacred Heart that often.
