For any of you who may be interested, I told my hospital story on my profile blog.  I swear it seemed so much worse going through it than just reading it.  It was quite an ordeal, though! I'm glad to be home.  Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

Kim - I'm so glad you're out of that place!!  I had a horrible time in the hospital.  Not only did they feed me soy, which I'm allergic to, but the response time when we pushed the nurses call button was HORRIBLE.  I didn't need the nurses much, but I shared the room with a woman who had had her stomach totally removed due to cancer.  She was unable to walk on her own and needed the nurses to get back and forth from the bathroom.  They left her sitting in there for about 25 minutes once.  I felt so bad for her.  It turned out, there is a call center at the nurses station.  Someone sits there and takes the calls.  Instead of paging the nurses to let them know someone needed help, they were waiting until one of the nurses passed by the desk!!  Well, we straightened that out in a hurry, but I'm afraid it only worked for that shift.  Linda

More and more I'm thinking my doc's recommendation of Legacy makes good sense for me. Too many OHSU horror stories lately.
