Update on my PS

Hi all, I had PS on Nov 20th that included a brachioplasty, revision of the upper TT, mons lift and lipo of the inner and outer thighs in prep for round 3 of PS which will include among other things a MTL (Medial thigh lift) and outer thigh lift. My hospital experience was less than pleasant, but I managed to escape there alive and am pleased to tell you that I am doing very well with NO complications. I am still quite swollen in the arms and legs. The legs were the hardest part believe it or not.  Lipo SUCKS! (sorry, bad pun) It feels like you were hit by a big mac truck and the truck driver backs back over you to make sure he killed you properly the first time.  Even after longer than 2 weeks out I look like someone took a baseball bat to my legs.  I'll take 3 ft of suture line to the lipo any day!! Fortunately I won't be having additional lipo. So I'm home recouping and happy that things improve daily. Trisha

Now that I'm a little over 2 weeks out I'm doing pretty well.  Shopped too much yesterday....the legs still hurt to walk very fast, but they will go on indefinately at a slower pace. LOL Trisha

Glad it is all working out for you. I had my consult with Dr. JH in October. Not impressed with them, to tell the truth. Unless you paying cash, they really are not sympathetic to WLS patients. Even i\with a letter of pre-approval, they have made life miserable up there. still no surgery scheduled. Probably my insurance rates are too low for them. I will not say too much as they might see this.  later, lovey! tee

Glad you're recovering Trisha.  I don't know what it is about OHSU hospital -- they have great docs but the hospital itself leaves much to be desired.  Just another plan to get us up and out quickly I suppose. Take care, Linda (Sorry, I spelled your name wrong at first!)

I had good care the first go around.  THIS time was something completely different...won't comment much on a public forum.

Trisha, like I've said before you're much more brave than I am.  I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever get really small (doubtful because of the other medical issues but who knows) or how I'll really even look.  I'm thinking duct tape... Congrats on getting one step closer to being the new you! Lori

Lori,  the pain isn't so bad, except for the lipo.  In fact there are areas she cut that I just haven't felt ANY pain because it was just skin.  No nerves or muscles were involved.  THAT is when you experience pain I think.  I'm actually doing pretty well.  I was just remembering the time I met you was just after my FIRST go around!!!  How time flies!  We all need to do breakfast again soon. So right!  I have had nerve damage since 1990 that no one knows why I developed it or why it hasn't gone away.  I think that's partially what scares me.  If I had a reason (one of the most logical is postherpatic neuralgia but if I did actually have shingles then I didn't have any lesions -- I've since had shingles multiple times which, apparently, is also fairly rare for someone as young as I am chronologically).  Of course it happens to also be in an area (above my rib cage over my liver) where I don't really have very much fat or extra elasticity so if I did have any type of surgery I'd be really curious to know if it would make the pain worse, cure it by removing those nerves or just remain the same.  It sucks! Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're up and about and healing.  That's what's most important, anyway. I would love to do breakfast again soon. Lori
