hello fellow oregonians/washington biggest losers.
Per my insurance i have to be on a diet for 3 months prior to surgery . My insurance doesnt cover my vist with the nutrionist (only if you have other conditions not related to obesity but yet they pay for the surgery - make you go hmmmmmm????) any how i dont have the funds to see her yet but i want to get started on a diet plan to get some weight off until i can go see her. does any one have any plans that they can share that worked. I really need help before i gain any more weight.... those of you who saw the nutrionist at oshu or legacy what was your outocme or suggested diet. also did you exercise while on diet as well if so what and how much. Please help .. thank you inadvance to all *****ply.
I saw the nutritionist at OHSU. They put you on a 1200 calorie a day diet. Basically, you eat a serving of protein (egg, cottage cheese, yogurt), fruit, and carb (toast, potato, pretzel) for breakfast and lunch, and then protein (chicken, fish, beef), vegetable, carb, for dinner. A good way to keep track of the calories (and portion sizes) is to use www.fitday.com
I would occasionally substitute a protein drink for a meal. Be very careful that you don't get carried away with the carbs. They can really pile on the pounds.
If you PM me your email address, I can see if I can find the diet and send you a copy. It is very much like an old Weigh****chers exchange list.
