I saw the nutritionist at OHSU.  They put you on a 1200 calorie a day diet.  Basically, you eat a serving of protein (egg, cottage cheese, yogurt), fruit, and carb (toast, potato, pretzel) for breakfast and lunch, and then protein (chicken, fish, beef), vegetable, carb, for dinner.  A good way to keep track of the calories (and portion sizes) is to use www.fitday.com I would occasionally substitute a protein drink for a meal.  Be very careful that you don't get carried away with the carbs.  They can really pile on the pounds. If you PM me your email address, I can see if I can find the diet and send you a copy.  It is very much like an old Weigh****chers exchange list. Linda
