I notice more and more I find myself grazing more often instead of eating 3 meals a day. I am so hungry that I eat while I am cooking and still seem to be able to eat a small meal. I really feel like I am eating more than I should be able to. still loosing but very very very slowly. I am working out regularly,  Guess I am just needing to get it out there and deal with it, I am so afraid I will undo everything I have done. so any suggestions? Im thinking rethink everything I eat. I have found that I can eat sweets with no bad side effects at all. WAY NOT GOOD, I get full easy and usually stop at the presure feeling.  OK ladys I need breakfast with my bypass friends Kelly

Kelly - it's so easy to slide into bad habits, especially at this time of the year.  The fact that you posted about it and you recognize it is a big step.  Now you just have to convince yourself to avoid snacking too much.  When I did Weigh****chers, I used to cook with a clean pair of dishwashing gloves on.  So hard to pick up food and put it in your mouth with those awful rubbery gloves on.  It's just a good reminder of what you're doing and that you shouldn't be eating.  I hope that helps a bit. That's a great idea, Linda. I saw another one on Discovery Health recently - a woman allowed herself a small taste of something and then promptly sprinkled a lot of pepper over the rest of it to render it inedible. Of course, that certainly wouldn't work with something you are cooking, especially if it is for the family. But I could see doing it in a restaurant to keep from picking at more than I should eat whilst the bigger eaters are still chowing down.

Kelly, would love to do breakfast again, but won't be up to it for a few weeks.  It's round 2 of the Plastics on Tuesday.  Will be at OHSU again.  I think the last time I saw you I had just had round 1.  My how time flies!!! I find myself slipping too.  I NEED to eat, so what I am doing is putting ALL my food together for the day.  Then I just graze on it all day.  This seems to work for me and sometimes I even have food left over.  I don't eat what's not in the bag, but having veggies ready with some hummus or sliced apple to dip in cream cheese mixed w/ ff cool whip is SO helpful.  I already know that the amount is OK, because I've measured everything when I put it in the bag!! That is such a great idea, Trisha-that way, you know you are getting the right nutrition and aren't as tempted to snack on junk. I'm definitely going to do that! And Kelly, I know what you mean-it's so hard to change a lifetime of habits once we can eat again and the surgery isn't doing the work for us. You have come so far and your life has changed so much! You know what to do-you can do this! Congratulations for admitting it-that's a tough step!

OMG its hard to imagine that you are ready for round 2 already, wow time does fly big time. What are you doing this time? That is a great Idea,, putting the food in a bag for the day, I think my biggest struggle is that at this time I have 4 either teenagers or young adults living in the house and find I need to cook often to keep them all fed,

I cant wait to see you I know all well go well this week let me know if you need anything

Kelly, Kim and I are going to be at OHSU on the same day!!!  We just discovered this.  I'm having Brachioplasty (arms), revision of the TT with a reverse TT ( she will open the upper portion from just below the waist and  cut a chunk out like thie () then pull in and upward using the scars from the breast lift), some lipo on the thighs to set me up for a MTL (medial thigh lift) on round 3 and finally she is going to lift up "Miss Kitty" a bit. LOL I have surgery on Tuesday and will spend until Wed. night.  Kim has surgery on Wednesday.  We are going to try to find one another while there.  It's a big hospital! About your food...  Here is my "typical" day. Breakfast: yogurt or cottage cheese and fruit snacks: SF FF 4 shot 12 oz vanilla latte (a girl's got to have her coffee) 1 apple cut up into slices veggies:  carrots, sugar snap peas, cauliflower, radishes, broccoli to equal about 2 cups 1/3 C hummus (great for dipping those veggies into) 2 ozs cheese (I like smoked gouda with the apples slices) 18 pretzels (OK, I'm NOT perfect!!) 1 C of some sort of soup that I've made like: split pea and ham, pozole, chicken noodle, creamy cauliflower, etc. Dinner: 4 oz salmon             1/2 C coleslaw (I like the asian version w/ sesame seed oil, vinegar and a bit of Splenda)              1/2 C SF FF pudding eaten later Notice how much FOOD there is there?  A LOT! But it only totals about 1300 calories for the day, and that is the ticket!  Notice I don't have lunch?  That's because I just snack on all that stuff that has been cut up and put into baggies.  I eat my pudding later too.  It REALLY regulates the blood sugars to do this as well and gives you more energy. OK, about the kids..... Just a suggestion.  My mother started me cooking when I was young.  We would make a main dish together which not only gave us some time together, but taught me HOW to cook.  Later on I cooked ALL our dinners.  I suggest the same.  It will give them valuable life lessons and down the line from now each can have 1 day a week they are responsible for what goes on the table.  Shoot, teach them how to use a slow cooker....what could be more simple?  Doesn't have to be hard.  Then when they are on their own in a few years they will know how to take care of themselves too and may even enjoy cooking.  It's worth a try anyway. {{{{hugs}}}} Trisha

Seems that between jobs and visitation with the other parent there is not time to have them cook meals. We actually tryed that each take a turn thing but they are all gone until late in the evening and I and hubby need to es at before that. I love the menu you have going on, here is what mine looks like breakfast usually either a slice of toast or half a bagel with some kind of meat on it,,sometimes cream cheese sometimes butter other day I will scramble 2 eggs with some type of meat either ground beef left overs or chicken leftovers about 1/4 cup if that and make a breakfast burritto. I rarely eat it all snack,, coffee with 2 teaspoons sugar and come non dairy creamer lunch depends on what day, sometimes I eat half a sandwinch a peice of fruit,   other days if i get the chance to go out toeat with a friend I will split a chineese meal like happy family  or something like that snack other half of the sandwinch, leftovers from lunch what ever I could not eat Dinner about 1 to 2 oz of meat, what ever I make usually either chicken, steak, pork loin, ground beef or hamburger patty something like that. 1/4 cup of veggis and half a potatoe or 1/4 cup of pasta evenings is when I find myself finding that cookie or 2 or mabie  a few chps.  I also find that I like to have ashot of tequila some evenings to just realx wine is ok but I dont seem to enjoy that as much after surgery as I did before, I have never been a big drinker honestly maybe once a month if that. I am not doing well with the sugar free stuff and premensral I find myself eating alot of sugar stuff,, DArk chocolate is my bad girl. I wish I got sick on sugar!  I need to figure out what my calorie intake is i guess I really dont count calories very well at all. I just like to eat when I am hungry and try to stop when I am full Tonight I have about a full oz of halibut steemed in orange juice with a bit of sugar and lemon juice  half of a sweet potatoe with butter and a little brown sugar and 1/4 cup of green beans.  dose that seem like way to much , most days I cannot eat my hole meal of what ever I serve myself tonight i did and it was easy.  ok enough rambling about me and my food. r I am so excited for you to get your stuff done WOW I did not know that they can fix miss kitty. I figured that she will be deformed from here on out :) That is good news, Looks like Kim is not going to be there when you are there but I know you will both do Great!!! Please let me know If I can do anything for you hey have you heard from Patty?  Kel
