Good news!
Wow Kim, it must feel great to finally get some good news! What a huge relief that your insurance is going to cover the revision! I'm so happy for you! I hope you and Dr Deveney can come to an agreement about your surgery, because what if what he wants to do isn't what you want to do? Will you then have to find another surgeon and go through the whole waiting/insurance approval process again? This is very worrisome!
Well I think I have to consider what he has to say. I for sure have alot of questions for him about converting me and why he is changing his mind from what he told me in the first place. I also need to find out why I am so against being converted, which I hope to be able to figure out through my questions and his answers. I don't think I have the time to find another surgeon and go through this whole process again. My other option would be to fly to Missouri and have another MGB doctor do the revision, and then go to my insurance company after the fact, and try to get reimbursement. I just don't know if I really want to do that for a number of reasons. Of course, if it was my only option, I would do whatever I had to to make it happen, but I do believe in the technical mastery of Dr. Deveney and I don't believe he would purposely mess me up or make things worse than they already are.
You are in such a tough position-in the end, it's your body and your choice, and I understand why you need to feel comfortable with what the surgeon wants to do. I hope this can be worked out so you will be on your way to good health again very soon! I can't imagine going through all that you have been through lately-I really am sending you my best thoughts and prayers, Kim. Stay strong and know that soon this will be over.
