I think I know the answer, but hope I am wrong! As a post op r-y patient, is there anything that can be taken for a head cold & sore throat?  Can we take tylonol pm or anything?  I am getting ready to go home for a family trip and my head is going to explode. Help...Anyone???

I think you can take the tylenol cold meds if they don't contain alcohol.  There are some sugar-free ones. Linda

If you need to take pain relievers, you may be better off taking adult chewables or liquid forms.  Ask your pharmacist. In the meantime, drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest.

I know I can take tylenol, Sudafed and Chlortrimetron for short term relief.  But I don't have an RNY.....yet...

Yes, you may take any Acetaminophen product including the PM version.  Benadryl is great for sinus issues and helping you sleep.  For a full blown cold I take DayQuil LiquiCaps because they don't have alcohol and they disolve and get into your system quickly. Hope that helps and that you feel better soon! Dj
 Pre-Op 316.  Currently 134.  Goal was 135 but I'm ecstatic.
