Anyone have Dr. Jan fix their hernia?

I had to go to the ER last night the the doc there said I had an umbillical hernia.  So I am not sure if I should go to a general surgeon here or go to Dr. Jan (he is 400 miles from me) or if he even can fix it or if he will just send me to another surgeon. Michelle

Did you just discover this, or did you have it prior to having surgery?  I had one and got it repaired when they did my surgery.  He also removed my gall bladder.

From what I was told in the ER on Sat night it just happened...but then I went to the ER Sun and they said I don't have one.  I don't know what the h**l is going on all I know is that I am in major pain. Michelle

I can't answer specifically but I can say that you'll want to find the most experienced surgeon you are comfortable with.  Since you have a history with Dr. Jan you could see him. My niece will need to have hers fixed and my brother-in-law had an abdominal hernia that needed emergency surgery late last year.  If you're interested I could get the name of his surgeon (my sister's  a veterinarian and really dose thorough research so I trust her choice in this surgeon).  He's done incredibly well with no complaints.  I've met the surgeon, too.  He's an absolute comedian!  He operates out of the Legacy Emmanuel hospital.
