Hey guys, Just a quick note ... I got home yesterday. Everything went great... and I cannot say enough good things about the OHSU staff, they were wonderful. Having a hard time making myself eat... anyone else have that trouble at first? Really just don't want to bother, but am mostly taking in some sf jello and a little super milk. Trying to remember everything lol. How'd things go for the others who were having surgery right before me? Any updates on the Coos Bay trio? Thanks, Michele

Congrats Michele! I am glad OHSU went well for you too, I am still trying to decide between ohsu and good sam, and had read some poor reviews about the nurses at ohsu. How exciting to be past the biggie and ready to start seeing yourself emerge! Best wishes in recovery, Melanie

Melanie, The day/evening nurses were great, and the night nurses were pleasant if not as "connected" as the day/evening ones. A couple of nurses aides were a little brusque, but overall everyone was awesome. They actually cheered me on when I got up and started walking the halls, stopping me to tell me how great I was doing. lol Should have been careful about wondering about hunger, now it seems my stomach has been rumbling all day long. Any ideas guys? Thanks everyone, Michele

Welcome home! Hopefully the food thing will start to improve (I was a lap bander so I had different issues but still had no desire to eat anything at first). Lori

Hi Michele, I had the lap band 12/29 in Coos Bay. I'm doing better everyday, It took about 4 days before I felt like eating, Its been a little over a week and I cant eat much, I get really full on just a small amount. I get all my water in but having trouble with the protien, only about 30 to 40 gm per day. In just over a week I have lost 16 lbs. woo hoo, even if I cant get all my protien in something is working. Congradulations on your surgery. I have not heard anyting about the other two girls that had surgery the same day as me. Karen

Hi Michele, I got your reply from my questions a few weeks ago --- Thanks! I really wanted to say how happy I'm for you, and glad that everything went great. Did they do open surgery on you. I know you were hoping for lapa. How was your Dr. I think he is the one who will do mine. Keep drinking your water and eat that protein, it sounds like your doing fantastic! God bless you, CJ
