YOU are so right... I'm guilty of this too... prior to surgery and just after this was my lifeline... and now I find FB my "go to".
Sad, very sad...I met a lot of wonderful people, made some great connections, went to many get togethers and even a monthly I believe, WLS group in Burlington. Then COVID hit and that group diminished. SAD...
Hope we can get some oldies back on here... BTW my surgery was in 2012....seems like yesterday and only wish I had surgery much earlier
Take care of you

Hi There...
I recognize Diminishing Dawn... and even met her at a WLS Conference put on by "Janet".... awesome to see you're still "helping out" others!!! Amazing Woman you are!!!
Obviously I haven't been on this site in years... and I too need help!! Regain is my enemy.. MY own fault in part.. depression the other fault.
But, life is good.. still have the majority of the weight off... so that's a bonus... not where I was and I never will be!!! Gotta be positive in life!!
I'm Deb Stewart .. on facebook.. would love to chat!
Also, in a bit of a dilemma, we moved to Belleville in 2017... and now not sure how or who I would contact re: help from a bariatric clinic .. St Joe's in Hamilton or go to the nearest clinic which would be Kingston.
Have a terrific Tuesday...
and take care of YOU!!
Hi Lexxiblue!
I remember you from this forum and from the Burlington meetings. We went out for coffee once I believe.
Sorry to hear about your weight gain. I have had a bit of that too, but mostly from too much wine during the pandemic - it just pours on the calories! Anyway, I am back on track but have gained about 10 pounds which I was told (from the Ottawa clinic - I am living just outside of Ottawa now) is pretty normal. I am ok with it but clearly, it's a lifelong journey to stay fit and healthy especially as we age - with or without the surgery. I am grateful for the surgery (2017) and still very much feel the effects especially when I eat too much. I guess I am one of the lucky ones, but as I said it's a daily struggle for sure.
I have not been on this board for years - life goes on. It was so nice to see some familiar names though. I hope all is well with you.

Hair loss is caused by a variety of reasons. It can be a genetic predisposition, including androgenic alopecia, stress, unbalanced diet, and changes in the hormonal background, as well as due to age. I have always carefully watched my health, but my hair began to fall out because of my age. I lost all my hair within a year and became bald. I went to https://www.hairtransplantinstitute.ca/ to get a hair transplant. I had a lot of complexes because I had no hair, but now my hair is a great addition to my image.
Massaging your scalp can also promote circulation, which can help with hair growth.
I am going to Pembroke for mine as well. Hoping I have the same results!

The old, basic quote of motivation. But, sometimes you know, we really don't get the chance to turn the page, instead, the page would get turned for you, whatever chapter that may be. I'm saying, nothing's in our hands.

I feel you. I'm new here but since you've been a member for a long time, I can only imagine how sad it'd be for you. But, I think, nowadays, FB groups are also kind of dead. I believe those FB groups too faltered. Everything just withers at one time or another.
Why self pay? Why not through the Ontario Ohip system?
as far as I know if you want self pay DS you'll have to go through Quebec or out of country.
