Good morning :)
What a storm this morning!! Everyone was awake around 5:30 so I ended up having a pj party with the little nuggets. Thankfully they eventually both went back to sleep, so we had a late start this morning.
I told DH that my knee was acting up yesterday (an old injury) and he said it's because we were going to get a storm. I laughed and told him I must be getting really old if my bones can tell when it's going to rain ;)
Goal #1: not too bad yesterday. I still need to get more water. Especially with it being warmer. My current challenges are not snacking on LN1s leftovers and taking little bites from the cupboard that are not on my planned menu.
QOTD: do you like thunderstorms? I do not. I did when I was a kid and one day my friend and I were sitting inside the front door of my grandparents house watching the storm when lightning hit the house across from us. I've been a mess ever since.

Good afternoon,
I too am late posting today but thankfully still have my glasses ;) I wonder if you called your optometrist if they would let you just drop your glasses off for the repair.... it's pretty important that people be able to see! Last night I helped my daughter move from an upstairs apartment in one town,,,,, to an upstairs apartment in another town so I think this should count towards a 3 hour stair master workout My body did not feel like getting out of bed and going to work, but of course I did.
QOTD: Yes I still stress eat but I think I'm more conscious of it now. Before surgery stress eating would be something fried or sugary but now I don't keep that food around so at least it's healthier stress eating when I have a weak moment.
YAY for 2 lbs Meg!! (I'm down 1 but maybe the scale will look better in a couple days with burning all those calories up and down stairs. )
B - protein shake
S - clementine
L - salad with grilled chicken
S - pretzels with chocolate hummus
D - perch, green beans with sliced almonds
S - boiled egg or a yogurt possibly
Good afternoon :)
I'm late getting started today. Today has been an upside down day including pupper #1 eating my eyeglasses. This is especially problematic because I broke my primary pair last May (a year ago) when I fell on my face - broke my nose, bruised ribs/chin/forehead/elbows. It was a spectacular fall. So now I have two broken pairs... I'm going to have to see if I have any old pairs left to get me through until I can make an appointment to get new ones.
QOTD: do you stress eat? I thought today was going to be a better eating day than yesterday but then I stress ate some dark chocolate I had packed away. On a positive note I'm down 2/5 pounds towards my first goal.

Hola Meg & nuggets,
Yes it's a beautiful day now but it was pretty chilly at 6 this morning when I first got up. Unfortunately I'm stuck in an office all day but I did get out for a quick 15 minute walk for some fresh air.
I remember you saying you were looking at houses but I think this shutdown has put a hold on many things. I'm sure the increased gardening will do just fine for the time being and when the time is right, things will fall in place for you and your family ;) The kiddos will enjoy visiting their "country" relatives regardless - a mini vacation for them.
QOTD: COUNTRY all the way! I was raised in the country so we learned to make our own fun outside in the snow or ditches. We would ride our bikes to meet school friends. At the time I am sure there were comments about being "bored" but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. My bro and I always had farm type jobs as kids and learned the value of a hard-earned dollar. I still live in the country and we enjoy bon-fires and having the music up loud while we are outside without hearing anyone complain.
B - greek yogurt
S - tamari almonds, clementine
L - chicken, asparagus
S - turkey pepperette
D - bunless burger and tossed salad

Good morning :)
What a beautiful day!! We were just outside -- I transplanted some lettuce, watered a few things, and I'm trying to save some tulip bulbs that got pulled up in our front garden -- we don't want them there but they are still good :)
I don't know if I've mentioned this but before things shutdown we were looking at buying a farm. We've put that on hold, but increased our gardening instead. I really wish we were still in a position to move. The girls would be closer to their cousins and we would just have more space. DH is turning into an urban homesteader lol.
QOTD: city or country? My MIL definitely believes I'm "too city". She's a farmer. She was helping us with planning farm things. I grew up on the edge of a medium-ish city so I've always been happy either way.

I should also say I got my referral from a new family doctor who I was meeting for the first time. I went prepared though. I printed off the 17 pages of instructions I found on the Ontario website. It is written for doctors, it is a step by step guide on how to submit a referral to the bariatric clinic. I also documented my weight loss journey with weight and actions taken and dates. Writing my history with weight took 2 pages. On the top of both those pages I noted my current weight, current BMI, my health card information including date of birth and anything else he would need for the referral. He listened to my journey and accepted the (hopefully) helpful paperwork. He said he would have it completed by the end of the week (3 days). It took 5 weeks and 6 follow up calls from me before he got around to the referral. Then covid happened. But alas, be your own advocate. Be prepared. SHOW your family doctor you did your research. Make it easy for your doctor to say yes. Then follow up like s/he owes you money!
I dont think it is impossible to get a new doctor right now. Where abouts are you? In the GTA we are still doing family doctor appointments via phone or in some cases video. Even walk in clinics switched over. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Happy Friday ;)
I stuck to plan yesterday but was not able to get a full walk in due to rain so I'm a bit disappointed. I'll make up for it this weekend and head to a nice long trail with some slopes. I may even do some weight training in the living room if the weather doesn't co-operate.
QOTD: I'm with you on the no pop rule. I was a huge diet Pepsi drinker until I decided to start preparing for surgery,,, I cut down in the first couple of months and then totally changed over to water and have not looked back since. My kids are constantly saying we have "nothing to drink" even though I always have juice and milk lol.
B - protein shake
S - turkey pepperettes
L - tossed salad with grilled chicken
S - clementine
D - fish, veggies of some sort
S - greek yogurt
Good morning :)
I will give myself a B+ for sticking to my plan yesterday lol. There were a few nibbles -- it's especially hard to stay away from the little nugget's leftovers. I was outside a bit -- did some weeding. Not fun. The garden soil that we got seems to have a lot of weeds -- two in particular.
QOTD: what was the hardest change or rule for you having surgery? Mine was the no pop and no gum rules. I was a heavy pop drinker before. I haven't missed gum as much as I thought I would.
