Good morning :)
I didn't get out yesterday so I'm going to get the dog food and groceries today.
I'm in a bit of a funk food and weight-wise... I caught myself on a video yesterday and realized how much weight I have really gained. I have been making small improvements but I'm still eating too many calories per day. I think I will try to set meal times and try not snacking in between... It's going to be a fine balance and I'm not looking forward to it but I would be a hundred times worse if I kept going in the wrong direction.
Post-op three years and eight months.
Breakfast - protein bar
Snack - carrots and PB
Lunch - chicken leg and rice
Snack - Greek yogurt and banana
Dinner - pork chops
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Thank You! I think I will stay after all. It's a bring your family event and my daughter and almost 2 yr old granddaughter agreed to go with me. I'm going to enjoy the company and the laughs that come with dining with a toddler ?

Hi Menu Peeps. This is going to have to be a drive by posting. Today swimming, yoga, errands.

That would be cool to turn a dead tree into an old man sculpture.
I'll send you a pic of the polar bear.

Tell your boss you need to work remotely from home. Then come to the States with me. Tell your Trucker we'll send for him and my husband when the money runs out, lol.

It's a tough time of year to be doing Opti that's for sure. I started New Year's Eve day so I got "left out" of all the food and drink on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. It was tough but I got through it.
Here's the thing...what is going to happen for you in the next little while is going to be awesome. This is just the start of a whole new you.
Embrace it. Change how you are thinking. It's not about what you're missing out on, it's about what's in store for you.
I had people over on New Year's Day and I prepared all the food. They ate while I drank Opti. I didn't exclude myself. Take part...take your Opti with you. Be a part of the fun. You don't have to eat to enjoy your friends.
You've got this.

The first week wasn't too bad, I found I didn't like the sugar free flavorings so I am using decaf coffee, cinnamon and coconut extract to change things up. I miss the act of eating ... Im not necessarily hungry but finding it emotionally challenging. My sister had a big gathering to celebrate Christmas on Saturday. I worked until 6 but went out after the meal so I didn't feel I missed anything until it was time to go and everyone started to divi up the left overs and I felt a bit left out ... I know I have to keep working on not equating food with social inclusion and that is a work in progress. This weekend a group that I am on the social committee for, is having their Christmas potluck. I am going to help set up but leave before the meal because with surgery on Tuesday I can't afford to tempt myself but I have made plans to go back later to join some friends for a walk through the park and the first night of celebration of lights displays. This a very different Christmas season for me, I love to bake and cook and feed family & friends. When I am done my small pity party I will start thinking about some healthier Christmas traditions.

I don't know about stretching it but you could certainly do damage, possibly tear the staple line etc.
Are you measuring your food, and stopping when you get to the measured amount?
It takes time for your insides to heal. If you feel you are eating too much you need to start weighing and measuring all your portions to the guidelines you were given by your surgical team.
Not sure. Do you have someone in your program you can speak to re. eating behaviours? Seems like it would be good to have someone nip it in the bud?
Good luck.

Good morning :)
Nothing definite planned for today but I could go pickup some dog food that I ordered. Our vet doesn't stock what we use but they order it in when we need more. It's supposed to help with their teeth because they are smaller-ish dogs.
QOTD: I don't think I've ever seen a snow sculpture in real life... I saw sand sculptures at the CNE. However, I did see a really cool sculpture made out of a tree. It was near our cottage. An artist was staying at our friend's camp and I guess he got bored because he turned the tree into an old man.
