I love the second birthday idea. You have a awesome attitude Lana, with success stamped all over
The potluck scared me but with some encouragement I went, I had a good time and the only sort of slip was I had a cup of broth from a wonderful turkey vegetable soup, I did strain out the solids but it was the most flavorful broth I've eaten to date. I wasn't even tempted by the deserts.
I'm ready for Tuesday to be here so I can do this.

Girl, this is my biggest fear. I have optifast over Christmas and New Years and I worry so much much that I'll miss eating and cheat. At least you know true cause (equating food with social inclusion) and found a solution (joining friends for a walk).

Maybe. I am 60. I think the slow weight loss is due to not "dieting" and just staying on the lower end of the calories. But listen I can't complain too much after losing pretty much 90% of me!!! Thanks for the good wishes.

I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

I'm sorry for your pain and glad you'll be getting the proper care. I thank you for your encouraging uplifting words despite the gall stone pain. I am about two months behind you and also a slow loser which I think is due to my age (61). Heal well!

Hehehe I went from 7.5 to 6.5! I wear insoles in my old faves but mostly have just spent tons of money buying new clothes and shoes.

Listen you aren't going to stretch that pouch but you can hurt yourself. If you are having problems at this early stage with eating too much you MUST speak to your team. This isn't a diet you can cheat on. This is a serious surgery that you can and will harm yourself if you don't follow the rules.

Yes they will treat you as a non-obese person. I do not know if it is me or the rest of the world but I feel not as "judged" as before.

Yesterday was my one year anniversary and I thought I would come home from work yesterday and send you all a message of thanks, of hope and of wild joy! That was short lived when, at the beginning of a seminar I was taking, my side started to hurt so much I could not breathe or move. I got myself to the hall outside and called 911 after about 15 minutes of the same pain. It took almost three hours for the pain to dissipate and after five hours from onset of pain to the discharge to be told that, yup, gallstones!
I am being seen by a surgeon in the next two weeks and will move forward from there.
Yet still, even after having experienced what was absolutely the worst pain of my life (mother of two), I am so happy. I am 97 pounds down, I move freely, my asthma is in remission, I have not had a single incident of reflux, I sleep better, I flew kites with my grandson a couple of weeks ago and I was the one running around the most! I climb six flights of stairs to work every morning and barely even breath faster. I feel better, I look better, I am better.
Many thanks to this forum for before after and during. Many, many thanks to the staff at the Weight Loss Management Programme at the Civic and many, many, many thanks to my family and friends who did nothing but encourage me and cheer me on!

Which surgery will you be having? Sleeve, lap band, D'S, or RNY?
