In the past, I had a significant weight loss through diet (eating habits, no starvation) and regular workouts. I got a LOT of reaction from a lot of different people. Sadly, those closest to me judged and thought I was starving myself. Others, were negative saying it was temporary because that kind of loss "just can't be healthy". And my ex, would bring me chocolate bars or eat my lunches that I prepared for myself religiously. People that snobbed me before due to my size, suddenly acted like my new best friends.
I hated it and I was miserable. No one tells you what to expect when you lose a lot of weight. Sure, there are positives. But there are also things that are a bit less positive and they must be managed.
Going into this now, I am so much more aware and I'm ready. I think I know what will happen, but this will be different. Loss will be more significant, and permanent (I'll do what I can to ensure that).
I would say knowing why you are doing what you're doing, being confident in your decision and your choice will help. If you know, in your heart of hearts, why you have chosen this route, it won't matter what others will say. And they will have a lot to say. Let them have their opinions, they are entitled to them.
Also, remember those persons or groups are not as aware and knowledgeable about weight loss, surgery, expectations, and what is involved as you are or will be. It doesn't mean you have to teach them all or explain, that's on them if they want to understand or not. But, remember that once upon a time, we too thought the same as they think. Remember that those were the "excuses" that we gave ourselves also. Now, you are evolving into an even better you. Enjoy it and don't let the old "demons" drag you down.
I've used some of the Healthy Choice Steamers. The ones with protein and veggies. One has chicken and edamame that comes in at approx. 22 grams of protein and low calorie count. I have them in the freezer at work if I get caught working late and need dinner.

Good morning!!
Today my grandma and I are taking the little nugget to the mall. I think we will do a little Christmas shopping while we are there. Also, we draw names for gift exchange and I got a 17 year old boy. Any ideas? Now, I know I could probably go with something techy, but his dad probably has him all outfitted so I need something different. And I think he will be off to college next year but I don't want to get him something boring ;)
QOTD: I also remember parts of kindergarten. Mainly because it was the last year we lived in my first home. I had a little friend who lived around the corner. One day I was mad at my mom so I ran away from home to his house... She didn't notice lol. I came home for dinner.
Post-op three years and eight months.
Breakfast 1 - oatmeal bites -- these didn't turn out well. Normally they are dense and keep a ball shape. These ones are smooshy with almost a muffin texture.
Breakfast 2 - Greek yogurt and blueberries
Snack - carrots and PB
Lunch - tbd... We have some chicken but I'm not feeling it. Maybe food court?
Snack - egg and pickles
Dinner - chicken and peas
Snack - not the avocado pudding... It must have too much sugar because I had an RH episode last night.
All water and vits.
Can you just meal prep your own food and freeze meal size portions for yourself? That way you can control all the ingredients that go into the dishes. I have several small tupperware/rubbermaid containers and just freeze my leftovers in portion size for myself, and then larger containers for my husband. Even at over 2-1/2 years out I don't buy frozen boxed meals.
Wow - 2 months already! Time flies! XMAS time is tough time for anyone in retail - always on your feet and having to run 24/7. Hope you make it through and just take time to take care of yourself!
I'm sure that your bariatric team would encourage you to keep seeing your counsellor - any help is a good thing. I would highly doubt they would ever ask you to stop seeing someone who is helping you with your issues.
I definitely don't think you would be required to stop seeing the counselor you are already seeing. You will have to be seen by one of the bariatric social workers but that is just standard for everyone. I would definitely encourage you to continue with the help you have been receiving as it will help you with the whole process.
Good morning, or what must feel like afternoon now CC!! You're such a good wife!! I wanted to do some cycling this monring on the recumbent bike but of the four of them in the cardio theatre only one works. It's too dark in there for the guy that was using it to see my death stare to get him to move. so I hopped on the elliptical for 40 minutes or so and then did some stretching.
Accountability: I was doing good until about 930 last night.....not going to stress about it but try and make better choices between now and the new year and seriously straighten my **** out then.
QOTD: I so remember kindergarten. Teacher was Mrs Mulder and on day two a new student came to class, her name was Karyn also (but I spell mine with an e). The teacher put her beside me and we became fast friends and stayed that way all through elementary school. We went to different high schools and then lost touch.
Eats today are much the same as yesterday (sort of). 2 yrs 7 mos
GF - premier protein
B - 2 eggs, turkey sausage crumbles, cheese slice
S - apple cinnamon yogurt (new limited edition flavour, haven't tried it yet)
L - jumbo summer sausage sandwich on skinny bread with lettuce and havarti, cucumbers with a little Renee's Creamy Greek dressing for dipping (I blame you CC)
S - deli turkey, cheese string
D - chicken wings, cauliflower bake
Have an awesome day!
Happy Hump Day Menu Peeps. I am posting this Tuesday night because I have to be out the door at 4:30am. This morning I'm driving DH to the train station, then hanging around with a coffee until swimming starts, then yoga and errands before I pick DH up again in the evening.
Accountability: So far so good
Question of the Day: Do you remember kindergarten? I can remember parts of it, yet can't remember where I put my phone an hour ago.
The eats today at 4 years post-op are:
B. Protein latte, rivers of decaf, later egg bite sous vide
L. Bacon/Avocado/Grilled Chicken low carb wrap
D. Beef stew with buttah'd broccoli on the side (the last of the beef stew)
Have a great day everyone.

The exhaustion in part is because you have had major surgery. Don't worry about having low calories. Your body has it's fuel source in stored fat, and you want to access those stores. Make sure that you are staying hydrated, that will help with the tiredness. You have a very small pouch, so make sure that you measure everything and always eat protein first because that is what helps your body heal.
Pedal to the metal now until your reach your goal. No treat is worth stopping you from taking advantage of your honeymoon losing phase. Those things will still be there when you reach goal and then you can see what you can tolerate. You've got this.
