Good morning :)
CC, how did your furbaby's appointment go yesterday? I think it's understandable to get off track when things are extra stressful. And it's already a stressful time of year. More hugs going your way.
Today I have an appointment to get two fillings replaced. Oh joy. Apparently my old dentist majorly messed up all my fillings and we have slowly been replacing them all. They showed me an x-ray of one filling where the filling didn't even sit against my tooth -- there was a huge gap.
QOTD: if I had a day of no responsibility I would swim in a pool outside that was nice and shaded and eat and drink (not alcohol) and listen to music.
Post-op three years and eight months.
Breakfast 1 - oatmeal bites
Snack - protein bar
Lunch - probably nothing as I will be at the dentist
Snack - something soft...
Dinner - tbd pending fillings
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
I am with Humber and this is how it went for me...
1. Arrive at Pre-Surgical Area and Register, they said to be 15 minutes early as the time they give you is actually the time that you should see the nurse.
2. See the Nurse and do an ECG, blood pressure take weight and height...go through your medical history
3. Give Blood
4. See the Anesthesiologist who talks about your medical history as well as what they will need to give you in terms of meds.
This all took me 3.5 hours, the length of time was mostly due to waiting in between.
All the best to you!

Congrats on your surgery date. I'm having mine on January 4th. Good to have someone going through things around the same time as me.

My surgery is a month away and my pre-admission appointment is next week. They advised it is 4 hours long and to bring a snack. What happens during the appointment?

Good Morning Menu Mates. This morning I'm doing lots of errands and then I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Hoping tonight to go and listen to live music because tonight will be my last chance before I leave.
Accountability: It could have been better. Another stressful day yesterday
Question of the Day: If you had a day without any responsibilities, just for you, how would you spend it?
The eats today at 4 years post-op are:
B. Turmeric protein latte
L. Roasted veggie and chicken burger with a side salad of spring mix, brie, and pecans
D. If we go out, duck wings, if we stay in salmon and broccoli.
Have a great day everyone.

I think it's cute that your DH has gone all festive.
Meg you did have a productive weekend. I am envious. I took 1 step forward and 2 back. We live in hope that tomorrow will be a more productive day.

Congratulations, I keep edging closer to that 100 lb mark now, am looking forward to being able to claim that goal.
Great to know I'm not the only one stalling at this point. I too have been trying not to weigh myself too often.
It's weird cause I'm at the point where everyone keeps saying I'm looking really good and all I can see is that I still have a fat tummy (the umbilical hernia doesn't help).
Thanks for sharing.

Good morning :)
CC that sounds like a very stressful day. Sending all the hugs your way.
We had a pretty productive weekend -- got the Christmas tree up Saturday and then DH spent yesterday working on his lights display. In six years he has gone from not wanting to celebrate Christmas (family/childhood shenanigans), to wanting to go all out. Our house would look like the one in Christmas Vacation if I didn't reign him in lol. Thankfully the lights are LED now so I don't have to worry about him causing a neighbourhood blackout ;)
We also did some food prep including making more Greek yogurt. It is quite tangy. I've been adding Splenda and vanilla extract and then some frozen blueberries. There was a chocolate peanut butter recipe that sounded good so I might try that too. I also baked cookies but I sent them to work with DH so they won't tempt me.

they usually just quote you averages (although the quote she gave you seems even way above average). There are always going to be people who end up above or below that. Don't forget that for everyone who sticks to the their plan and tracks everything they eat for the rest of their lives, there are folks who stop paying attention to what they're eating and let old habits creep back in - thus, they regain a lot of weight, or never make it down to goal. All of the above people are factored into the averages, not just the successful ones.
A 10-20 pound bounce back is very common after you hit bottom (although even *that* isn't inevitable), but if you're following the rules and tracking everything you eat for the rest of your life, you'll very likely remain below - and maybe way below - the number she gave you. I was told 170-180 for me was "do-able" if I really worked at it. Once I got there and announced I wanted to be 150, I was told that wasn't a realistic goal. Well, I got there (and for awhile, below there) and have stayed there for two years. It can be done. There are lots of us here who have done it. You just have to be really committed to your plan and be willing to monitor yourself carefully for the rest of your life.
