I am about 14 months out from RNY. I lost from 285 to 161 lowest. i am 170 today. This is because of my bad choices, giving in to temptation, not planning, and grazing/ overeating. Oh lord. I don't want to be an RNY failure after cutting up my guts. ARGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

RNY Oct. 27/17. HW 289; SW 285; GW 144; LW: 161 CW: 196 FML: Fighting regain :(

I love when places have a moderately hot jacuzzi so you can sit in it for a long time.

I'm not sure its a VSG vs RNY thing or more just everybody is different. I had RNY and felt like you're describing.

Good luck to you!

Well hello all you supportive peeps!

I had surgery on Nov 26th at St.Mikes - ended up with VSG which is what they anticipated. I honestly can't believe how great I felt even in the couple days after surgery while staying in the hospital. I was out of bed the same day I had surgery (only to the bathroom) but just had one dose of pain meds in order to sleep that night. The doctors said everything went great and I only have good things to say about everyone at that hospital. The nurses were in shock that I was so alert and active but I do have a high pain tolerance so I'm sure that helped. My only complaint was that I was soooo thirsty and they would only let me have 3 TINY ice chips every couple hours,,, no water until end of 2nd day. My family was rofl because as soon as I'd see ice or hear a nurse ask about ice,, my heart rate would jump and set the monitor off !! It was pretty funny.

We took the train home (3 hrs) and it didn't bother me at all. Full liquids actually tasted good and I got probably 2 litres of water in by end of week 1. Today I pureed up some homemade soup and might even cook up a poached egg. YUMM

As for energy,,, its getting there. I felt like I could go back to work this week but am just going in half days for a few days so I don't overdo it which I tend to . I still lay down for an hour or so in the afternoon but am amazed that I feel pretty much back to normal. Is this common with VSG vs RNY?

Great to be back and be starting this new chapter!!

Hugggs to everyone

Oh and I am down 100 lbs from highest weight ,, yay!

Sounds like someone should mention to your gym that they are going to have some competition and perhaps now is a bad time to increase prices... Maybe they would change their minds.

I love a good foot rub as well. Especially if it's while I'm laying on the couch!! Lol.

Good morning Gang!

Back at the gym this morning after a brief hiatus. The gym is actually going to raise our fees in January even though we have contracts that say the can only increase them if there is an increase in the tax rates. Many members are not happy. One told me of a new gym opening up in February just up the street from where I go now so I may have to check it out.

Accountability: I haven't been true to my pouch lately. Going to try to be a little more responsible about what goes down the hatch.

QOTD: I love a pedicure....the massage part of it the most. I just love a good squeeze on my feet.

2 years 8 mos today

B - beefy macaroni soup (was leftover from weekend and I was too lazy last night to prep my eggs)

S - 2 HB eggs

L - spinach salad with chicken, blueberries, mandarin oranges, cranberry goat cheese with poppy seed dressing

D - TBD

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!! :)

I'm up early with the nugget but I'm hoping to go back to sleep for a while. Today we are going to my aunt's house. My cousin is giving me a mani/pedi which was a birthday gift from my mom. My aunt and grandma are going to entertain the little nugget while I'm there. Everyone is going to have a terrible time

QOTD: What is your favourite type of self care? I love having a head massage or getting my hair brushed. That is probably my number one thing. Second would be taking a bath. Especially before bed when it's super cold outside. Then jumping into bed before I get cold again.

Post-op three years and nine months. I got my requisition from the doctor yesterday for my four year followup. It's not until March, but my doctor can be hard to get in to see. I can't believe four years is sneaking up on me.

Breakfast - mixed nuts

Snack - protein bar

Lunch - last of the roast beef

Snack - egg and pickles

Dinner - chili -- we need to clean out our freezer because we are in the process of ordering another half cow.

Snack - pudding

Lots and lots and lots of water. My BP is always low, but my doctor emphasized it yesterday.

I do find a stomach ache or dumping are really good reminders to get back on track :) thankfully they hasn't happened too much lately -- more I'm eating more often than I should I think...

Stress eating can mess with your mind. Sometimes distraction works, sometimes it's eating a very bland snack like a HB egg with only salt and pepper (hard to go overboard on these if you don't add the mayo). I find anything really sweet or salty or spicy will trigger more binges. The struggle is really.

Things have been crazy busy here, and it's 1:20 in the morning when I am posting.
