Topic: RE: I dumped on a banana smoothie today

Maybe try 1/2 avocado and 1/4 banana. Avocado will make smoothie creamy and give some healthy fats while cutting down on sugar.

Topic: Does anyone in Canada do Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty?

Has anyone heard of a surgeon in Canada doing the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty? I'm in B.C.. Does anyone have any experience with this procedure? I'm scheduled to get a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in the next two months, but this other procedure sounds less invasive and more reversible.

Topic: RE: The wheels are in motion

My timeline was a little bit different because I was already in the medical bariatric program and when I met with Dr. Glazer he put me into the surgical program and sent me to see Dr. Hagen. I went to my orientation last October and I just got the call for the trio appointment for next week.

Having the support of your family will make all the difference, in the world!!! Were they supportive, the first time around? Do they need to lose weight, or just need to have a healthier way of eating?

Hi, find a style that suits you for now. It will grow back, just takes time.

Make sure you are using good conditioner or even "food". That might help it to be not so dry.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

Thanks, Kathy. I've already started doing a few things you've mentioned (like keeping a food journal). I'm seeing my GP soon to get some help from her as well. Surgery isn't my #1 choice, but I'm keeping it open and doing the work leading up to it, should I decide to go that way. Better to do that now than wait a year, then have to wait another year for the process to run through.

My husband has committed to doing it with me, but sometimes I don't want him to - he can be a nag!

We've decided to modify everything about our household eating, so the kids will have to be onboard as well.
