Good morning Menu Mates. This morning I'm going swimming and then my pursuit of finishing my to-do list continues.

Accountability: Not bad. I added in a healthy snack in the afternoon

QOTD: If you could, would you have a gas fireplace in your bedroom? I want one and DH is not sure he does.

The eats today at 4 years post-op are:

B. Decaf coffee with some collagen creamer in it.

L. Bacon/Grilled Chicken/Avocado low carb wrap with a little sriracha mayo

D. 2 pcs peameal bacon with an over easy egg. Might add some sauteed mushrooms on the side.

All water and vitamins.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning! I had forgo the gym this morning to get to work early. Yesterday afternoon went to hell in a hand basket!! My mother called about 315, she cut her leg open on the car door (?? your guess is as good as mine) so I had to go and get her and take her to emerg. Well four hours after being triaged she finally gets admitted (815). The dr takes a look and says oh....that's going to take some time to fix, let me clear some other patients....anyway, I missed my planned afternoon snack, thankfully I had a protein bar in my lunch bag which I ate at "dinner time" . By 9 I was hungry again, thankfully, once more, I remembered I had a protein bar in my gym bag. That sucker was flat as a pancake, clearly it had been there awhile, but it did the trick. In the end they stitched her up but because of her age, diabetes, and where the cut is he said it will be difficult to get it to heal, and he referred her to a plastic surgeon to follow up on the wound care/healing. Whew. I finally crawled into bed at 1045

Accountability: As I said, I made do with protein bars.

QOTD: Nah, I don't think I would want one. Our bedroom isn't big enough (maybe in my dream home) and we likely wouldn't use it, unless as I mentioned my dream home had a sitting area in my master bedroom where I could snuggle in with a book.

2 yrs 7 mos

B - egg mcmuffin

S - oikos apple cinnamon yogurt (missed it yesterday)

L - homemade chili

S - deli turkey, cheese string if I didn't eat it yesterday (can't remember)

D - the chicken wings I didn't get last night.

Have a great day!

Ginny that is awful. I hope your Mom is doing better today. Having 2 protein bars on hand was a clever idea. But then, I always knew your were clever. I have a meat stick in my glove compartment and a protein bar and a single packet of protein shake in my gym bag which stays in the car.

Good morning :)

I don't know what I'm doing today... Yesterday was quite successful. We ended up going for dinner so we will have leftovers tonight for dinner. I still have a bunch of things on my to-do list -- it just keeps going.

QOTD: I agree with Ginnny. If I had a dream home with a reading nook I would enjoy a fireplace. I like being cool when I sleep so I'm not sure I would use it regularly in the bedroom. I would enjoy one in our living room or sunroom. Our sunroom isn't insulated so we can't use it when it's cold out.

Post-op three years and eight months.

Breakfast - protein bar

Snack - Greek yogurt and blueberries

Lunch - pizza sandwich

Snack - carrots and PB

Dinner - chicken and veg

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Meg it would be so nice to have a fireplace in the sunroom. I'm sure the pups would also enjoy it.
