Hello everyone( Toronto Westurn Hospital)
I did some appointments through telehealth and some in person. The one disadvantage with Toronto Western is it's too far to walk from the subway or train.
I did telehealth in Uxbridge as it was close to my work but I live in Lindsay, you're basically sitting and talking to a computer screen, depending on who or what type of appointment they may have a nurse do vitals while you're there. If you're seeing dietician, you may need to fax reports to them first.
I much prefer speaking with someone in person but it's not always feasible to be taking time off work to keep going down for appointments. Some have to be done in person I believe including the "group classes".
When they schedule my 6 month appointments they had all 3 on different days so I did telehealth I've managed to schedule my 3 1 year follow ups on the same day, so I'll go downtown.

I was 18 months from referral to surgery, not sure what it is now, sound like it could be getting better from what I've heard on line, I got my initial appointments at my orientation, all were done in about 7 months, would have been a bit sooner but one appointment got cancelled/postponed when the social worker went on Matt leave earlier than planned, I know if you checked for cancellations you could get through sooner and those who were SMO were scheduled faster, I just followed the schedule as I had to book time off work everytime I went for an appointment. I'd already had the testing they required due to previously existing conditions so only needed bloodwork.
Could I have done it faster if I'd pushed probably but the time frame ultimately worked out well for me, I was really sure by the time surgery came around and was able to go through one last Christmas season without having to concentrate on what I could and could not eat.
