Opti fast isnt that bad!
I started Opti-fast yesterday and will need to be on it until October 22. I have to say I am only 4 shakes in and I have found that adding decaf coffee and about 3 ice cubes in my magic bullet with either chocolate or vanilla is pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm encouraged that the first day wasn't as bad as I thought as I was expecting to be starving and I really wasn't. Hopefully the rest of the ride will be just as enjoyable.

Surgery - October 23/18!!
Hey Sunny - how are things going for you now that it is week #2? I am surprised at how easy and yet so hard this opti fast has been. I have times of hunger but it really isn't as hard as I thought it would be. When I'm hungry I have the shake and the feeling instantly goes away. But the hard part is the social aspect of it. I went to the movies last night - had a tea - different than my usual. I went to a workshop at a coffee shop and had a tea while everyone was eating snacks. I'm not hungry - but its hard just breaking the cycle of what the normal routine used to be. Overall I am actually very excited. In the end its not as bad as I was dreading. Except that the shakes are getting a little boring....lol.
What hospital are you going to? I will be at Michael Garron (Toronto) for October 23.
Good luck with everything!

I'm finding my experiences similar - my challenge is making meals for my boys; gum seems to help.
I'm at Toronto Western for October 22. Will pack tomorrow, not too much to pack really - planning on 2 nights there, as my surgery is at 2 pm
Decided to stand on scale, down 9 lbs - surprised; I guess a good start for what is to come...
Sunny
I don't find out my surgery time until the day before (weird) but we will head down to Toronto on the 22nd just so the timing doesn't stress me out.
I'm down 10 pound. I was shocked as well - had to step off and re-step on the scale a few times just to let it sink in. What a great feeling!
Too bad we weren't at the same hospital - would have been nice to say hi!
Good luck with everything - its almost here! :)

Thanks, and good luck to you too. Hope you don't have to come from too far. Would be great to share going through this - see how we handle all the new things we will learn and experience as we drop this horrible weight and have a body that lets us do so much more - I want to try ziplining with my boys next summer - lol (I can hear myself screaming already) - and I promised I would do some coasters at Wonderland with them too - yikes!
