7 1/2 Month Update
Hi All,
Well, as of this morning I am down 138 lbs and 17.6 or .8 lbs away from my goal. I am still considered overweight by my BMI but once I hit my goal I will be NORMAL.
I am surprised that it has happened so quickly but glad it did. I did lose about 40 lbs prior to going on Optifast on January 1st so I kinda got a kickstart.
I wish I could figure out how to post pictures. For some reason, I am extremely challenged in this department. I posted a visual journey on a FB group that I belong to and it was incredible to look at the changes over the past several months.
I went shopping today and bought some fall/winter clothes because I have NOTHING for when the weather turns cool. So a trip to Value Village scored a winter coat and a pair of jeans. Then off to Old Navy - my new favourite store. I bought another pair of jeans (size 12), a jean jacket (medium), a couple of tops (small) and a neat pair of pants that are "slimming". Love them. I cannot believe that I wear size 12. And then Winners - also a new favourite store where I found an awesome fall/spring coat. I love it!
I had to go shopping for underwear (bras and such). So, I am officially a 34A which blows my mind. I was a 44D! It's all good. I look fit and healthy and that's all that matters.
I find it amazing how inexpensively I can buy new clothes and it boggles my mind that I can shop in any store I want to now (well except for Penningtons and Addition-Elle)! :) H&M is pretty cool too. Love what they have.
I work out 3 days a week doing weights and cardio. I do a lot of walking and I have an elliptical at home which I use quite regularly. I'm starting yoga next week.
My closet and dresser have been organized and reorganized several times over but I think I'm almost at the end of that now. I dropped off another bag of clothes at Goodwill today and I think I'm probably done with that too.
I eat healthy and balanced. I do some low carb baking every now and then so I can treat myself occasionally. It's working well for me. Sugar is pretty much gone and I don't eat bread. Bread just sits like a lump in my stomach. Sweet is no longer something I want. This is very good. My go to meals tend to be salads. I can't believe I just said that. LOL Yup, I've become a salad girl. Love my veggies and make sure I add protein. I have fruit every now and then but not lots. Mostly berries.
I have no regrets. This is the best gift I ever could have given myself.

Thanks Barb. It is the "best ever"! I look in the mirror and sometimes I'm surprised by the face and body I see. Seriously, there have been times I didn't even recognize myself. How weird and wonderful is that?
It's also true that sometimes when you aren't seeing the scale move, your body is "resettling" and changing. This has been an incredible process.
I am happy beyond words.
