Has any of my ONTARIO people been involved with the Wharton Medical Clinic? I have my referal in for the bypass surgury but my doctor wants me to do the program at Wharton while I am waiting. Any information would be great.

A good many of us are Wharton patients. I myself go through the Burlington location. They have doctors and dieticians and bariatric peeps on staff at all times. I go monthly for a weigh in and food diary check. They assist with any and all questions food related that I may have in between appointments with the bariatric clinic.

They are a great source of information leading up to and after surgery

*Hugs to all*

Wow, that is great news!! I have never heard of the place before.

I am not sure what location would be best for me as I live/work Brampton/Mississauga area.

Thank you for your reply.

I came through the Wharton Clinic in Hamilton. They have been awesome! Tons of support and they really take the time with you to go through all the steps.

I believe they have a clinic in the Martingrove/Dixon Road area. That's probably the closest one to you.

I've been a Wharton patient as well. Honestly, Dr. Wharton is the reason I'm even in this process - there's no diet plan here, their focus is to educate and help you make good decisions for your health.

I find that it's just nice to have a place to check in and talk to someone about my eating. He's also a very positive person, so that keeps me motivated and feeling good about staying the course.

There's a great class Sandra Elia teaches re. food addiction via the Wharton Clinic as well. Highly recommend - she has such great content and the class has been a good support network for me.

Thank you so much for your feed back!!

Since my post I have been contacted for my first appointment. Looks like I will be making the drive to Burlington (it was either that or Danforth).

I am so excited about my appointment after hearing so much positive feedback about Wharton's. Its too bad I have to wait over a month for it but I am sure the time will fly.

:)
