Another Clothes Purge

I have spent the day purging clothes once again which is an incredible exercise. For those of you that haven't got this far, it's an amazing thing.

My closet is now full of Size 12 - 14 and medium to small tops.

I no longer have a bra that fits - apparently I have to go underwear shopping this week.

All my fall/winter coats are done. I'm swimming in them.

I don't think we realize how little we've become until we go through this exercise. It's so incredibly eye opening.

I am going to have to invest in an entirely new fall/winter wardrobe! I'm going to have to get a second job to pay for all of this. LOL

That must feel wonderful! I was going to say hit up some second hand shops, but I see you're very close to goal. Heck, hit em up anyways, sometimes you can find real gorgeous pieces for a song. Have fun shopping!

Purging seems to be an ongoing thing, something that fit the last time you had it on is suddenly too big to wear. I think I'll still have some pants that fit in the fall, coats will be too big, haven't decided what I'm going to do about that. I've been hitting a local 2nd hand shop and have managed to pick up a few things, but as I'm still in the 18-20 size range they don't have that much, I drop off my clothes and go through the racks to see what they have.

Lucky for me I work in a casual office so mostly jeans/casual pants and t-shirts etc. I did find a bin of old sweaters and skirts that I hung onto that might fit in the fall. I don't imagine I'll get smaller than a 16 or Large but we'll see.

Congratulations on your need to purge again! I remember when you were wearing those baggy jeans. Lol. Purge baby purge!! I can't wait to see you. :)

CONGRATS TO YOU!! purging is amazing... i used to have a closet full of all kinds of sizes... of course, kept all the clothes... one day i'm gonna get back to this size... then i did and i missed wearing the clothes! you'll find or should find that 2nd hand stores.. Value Village, Talize, etc will be your best friend. They were and still are today!! I couldn't afford to buy new clothes for a week... was ridiculous and i got some great buys!!

I have wasted so much money on clothes over the years and I have an embarrassing number of clothes - I have a feeling I'm going to have an insane amount of clothing to donate. Some of them are brand new and not used, or maybe used once or twice. And plus size clothing is not cheap.

Does anyone know of a charity that would make use of plus size clothing - particularly business wear? I already feel so bad that I wasted so much money on them and I just want to make sure it is used in a meaningful way.

I know that in Hamilton they do clothes swaps amongst the bariatric patients out of St. Joes. Every now and then they post something on their Facebook Group page.
