Hey there, I am self employed so I don't get paid time off either. My situation was a bit crazy but I would do it again. I had surgery on a Friday, got home on Sunday. Monday was a holiday and Tuesday I was working. I was able to work from home, limit my time and take naps when I needed. I said no to some work because it was too much. But it worked out for me.

Good luck!!

I am in a desk job but I'm a remote worker so I think this may have helped somewhat but I had just under 2 weeks off (surgery was Tuesday, I had to travel down from Sudbury to Toronto so flew down on the Monday - so it was actually 12 days I had off from work after my op rather than 14).

I was totally fine after 2 weeks. I did have some complications but was still fine to work after the 2 week period.
