5 months post-op!

I had RNY 5 months ago today. It went very smoothly with no issues for quite a while. Before this surgery they knew I had a gall stone but it wasn't bothering me so they left it. At 3 months post op I started having some issues - first with my bowels, then a gall bladder attack and then just generalized pain and some nausea after eating. I assumed this was all my gall bladder which is booked to be removed in 2 weeks. Last week I was up north at a cottage and the pain got worse. I took pain killers so I could sleep and today saw my doctor. He thinks it's actually an ulcer and the pain killers made it worse! I finally feel like I'm getting some resolve as it's difficult to feel sick for so long.

I'm not telling you this for sympathy but rather to say I still wouldn't change a thing. I'm down 60 pounds in 5 months and feel great in my sundresses and shorts and even my bathing suit. I get compliments daily and still feel like I have much more energy. I'm not working out other than a lot of walking but I do really look forward to doing that soon. I see a life differently and look forward to the next phase of my journey.

Before this surgery I made a list of the things that would change for me. I just reviewed it can honestly say they have all happened. I am never worried a chair will be too small, I can give myself a pedicure, I never feel like the big girl, I don't have a double chin or sore feet but I do have a collar bone! So many great changes and I'm sure many, many more to come. Everyone's journey is different - we just have to embrace ours and believe me when I say "Life Is Good!"

This tool is truly a life changing gift!

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!
