Surgery date! Sooner than expected!
After hitting a snag in the assessment/approval process last summer, I was finally cleared for surgery in March. Last week I had Pre-Surgery Class, and today I met the surgeon and signed the consent forms. I was expecting a surgery date in maybe a couple months' time, but surprise...my surgery is July 9!
Surgeon said I should do 4 weeks of Optifast. I pointed out my surgery date is less than 4 weeks away. He didn't seem too concerned. "A few days difference won't matter, start in a couple of days." Well, that would take me down to only 3 weeks Optifast, so I'm starting tomorrow to give me as much time as possible.
Gah! This entire process seemed to drag on and on, but now it's moving so fast! I'm glad I was a nerd and bought all the flavourings and decaf coffee crystals early, because now I'm ready to do this. I've had more than enough "food funerals" this past year, I feel good and ready to leave that stuff behind and move forward in this new direction.

Yay! Congratulations! That is exciting.
Thanks! I am pretty excited, and not as panicked as I was feeling yesterday now that it's sunk in.

Thank you! It seems weird, but I haven't really thought about how good it's going to feel to start having not just NSV, but actual scale victories! I'm looking forward to not dreading stepping on the scale.
