Ulcers and dry heaving

Split the 5ml into 2 or 3 swallows and take it over a few minutes to see if that helps. Probably in addition to the ulcers, your pouch is irritated. Once the Sulcrate does it's work, it will get easier.

I have a small ulcer and they gave me sulcrate in pill format. It's 4 times a day.

I will say: I don't struggle to swallow pills at all, but this one, this one is tough!!! It is so quick dissolving, it already starts dissolving in my mouth by the time I swallow. It gets stuck all the time. I have a really hard time with it. I give myself a positive reinforcement before every pill now!

You can ask the doctor or pharmacist about switching your dose. It may be easier. It may not. And there may be a reason you need the liquid.

Good luck. Hope you feel better quickly.

Thank you, I've decided to take it a day at a time and try not to overwhelm myself. The liquid tastes horrible but I know it's what is needed to help heal me and I gotta take it to feel better. We can both do this =)

Ugh, I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with those pills. I actually have a bottle of the semi-dissolved pills that I couldn't get down on the first try (I will take them to the pharmacy to get disposed of). DH suggested putting the pill between my teeth while I was getting ready to sip my water to try to limit how much it starts dissolving.

They are awful suckers aren't they. Interesting idea about putting them between your teeth. Smart! I am trying to figure out in my mind how I would logistically coordinate that with sipping etc. Lol

At least I know the effort is worth it. It's been just under a month of a 3 month course of meds and I'm finally starting to feel better. There is hope! Hopefully you can get the buggers down and feel better if you don't already.
