My first trip since surgery

Good Morning, I thought I?d post as I had a lot of questions (and doubts) pre surgery about life post op and how it would effect doing the things I once enjoyed. My husband and I fairly often enjoyed trips to Niagara Falls- and a big part of it was nice dinners out. I worried that I wouldn?t enjoy our time away the same way. I?m happy to say that I enjoyed myself so much more. We still went out to eat and I was able to find things I enjoyed and I didn?t feel like I was deprived in any way. I actually had some lobster and shrimp and didn?t miss not having the sides. Of course I packed up most to take back to the hotel ( ate some later on as a snack). Because I feel better about myself , I enjoyed walking around ( got dressed up) and going for a night out at the casino.
I just wanted to let anyone know who is still waiting for surgery that you can still enjoy those special outings, events or vacations ( I?m only just over 2 months out) because your mindset changes on what?s important.
On a side note , I came back from my trip and had still lost weight and have made it into the 100?s!!

That was my biggest fear.
I have an extremely active social life and a lot of it revolves around tailgate parties, after training get togethers etc. etc. I was so worried that I would be the odd man out. I am so relieved to say that I am not. I have wonderful friends who always make sure there is something for me and are very supportive.
When I go out to eat, I always find healthy options, pack up 1/2 of it and bring it home.
Life has gotten so much better since I've had surgery that my worries about eating out, feeling deprived etc., are non existent.
You can still enjoy yourself post surgery. You just need to be smart about it.
