OK! Lets hear your REASON ...
What is your main reason for having your surgery besides the normal health issues and I want to live a long, happy, healthy
life.
Here is mine....my granddaughter Claire.
I want to be able to be there for her for a long time to come and be the cool grandma who does everything with her.

My reason for wanting the surgery is purely selfish.....for the last 11 years (since my son was born) my life has been about his health issues, and then hobbies, then having a daughter. Last year I decided that this year was going to be about me, and what I need. One of my top needs was to be as healthy as I possibly could be, which involved making the decision to proceed with surgery.
Fingers crossed I will have it before the end of the year.

Wanted to be healthier, tired of being in pain, short of breath, unable to do things. Am getting better 2-1/2 months out, not maybe as much as I would have liked, but moving in the right direction.

I wanted to be the hot trophy wife my awesome husband deserves - LOL
Silly reason, but it definitely was one. The rest are the normal health ones.
Side bonus I didn't anticipate - how proud of me my kids are!!!

Aww, she's beautiful. What a great reason. Mine is to live without my body being in pain from all the extra weight. To be able to walk, sleep or even sit with comfort. I want to want to do things and not avoid things because I'm self conscious about myself. I just want to feel like the person I am supposed to be. Too corny??!

I really liked your comment "I just want to feel like the person I am supposed to be."
This is how I feel, verbatim.
I've been on yo-yo diets since I was about 15 years old, maybe even earlier. I'm tired of it, and it's time to once and for all get the help I need to be where I want to be in life.

I was tired of constant body pain, clothes not fitting, being depressed about how I looked and I wanted to be active and doing things and couldn't.
When I started going to bed at 7:30 at night to watch TV because it was more comfortable for me I realized how bad I had let things get.
I wanted to be pretty again.

I LOVE everyone's responses!!! It's amazing how we can all probably relate to everyone's answers. I too want to be pain free, not hide anymore.. be the trophy wife to my handsome fit husband of 26 years. Even though he loves me for who I am and can't keep his hands off of me, I always have felt for a long time I was letting him and me down.
Not for long!
Sexy lingerie will be one of my first purchases...hehehe
