Good morning everyone!

Just wondering if anyone knows if Guelph Bariatric Clinic gives out Bariatric Food Cards for Restaurants? I see they do that in the US and am curious if they might do that here Ontario. I realize the restaurant cam make their own decision to accept it or not but just wondering.

From what I've been able to find via google, it's a little card-like thing your surgeon signs to let restaurants know there's a medical reason for wanting to order smaller portions or off the kids menu. Whether they decide to actually roll with it is entirely up to them.

I'm through Guelph and I did not get one. I have never read of any of the Ontario Centres giving out one. Once you are so far out post-op, you usually find something on the appetizer menu that is a perfect size.

I either order an app, normal entree and take it for leftovers for a few meals or order from the kids menu. I've heard of, but don't know where you'd get those cards. I've never been questioned or told I cannot order from the kids menu. When I eat out with my fiancé I'll get a soup or side salad and if I'm still hungry, just pick off of his plate. A lot of times when I'm eating out it's head hunger and not physical hunger. I've always joked with him that I'm a cheap date.

i would love that for sure. ordering full meals and then taking half home is a pain. Not to mention answering to management that comes over to ask if anything was wrong with the meal lol lol

It would address a pet peeve. I frequently feel a bit judged when I have to leave 90% of the carb on the plate.
