SKimster, maybe i read this wrong, but you won't shrink your liver with carbs at 125g. A package of Optifast has 16.8g of carbohydrate.

When carbohydrates convert to glucose in the body, it binds with water and is stored in the liver as glycogen. By keeping the carbohydrates very low, it uses up your stores of glycogen and shrinks the liver. Not trying to be mean, just trying to help. I want you to be as safe as possible with your surgery.

Try to limit your daily carbs to 50g if you can that should help shrink your liver. Drinks lots of water like it's your job. An egg is a good snack. Try the shakes with water. The apple would be high in carbs, so maybe lose that. Once you have had your surgery and start the different post surgery phases you will be adding in more types of foods.

THANKS crqvingchange for all the info!!!! That totally makes sense. I'm going to revise starting tomorrow. I know the surgeon says I don't need OPTIFAST but I really feel better if I try to shrink it if at all possible. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
