who else here is an old timer? i had surgery 7 years ago
I had my RNY 11 years ago and have regained 40 of the 100 pounds I originally lost! Needless to say that I am not happy about it and now that I'm retired I figure it's time to get serious about doing something about it. I've also had a double mastectomy with no reconstruction 18 months ago and enjoying life as a "flatty"...Marlene
Hi Monica! I'm not from Ontario and don't always make it over here. Just wanted to let you know that there are many long term OH members over on the main boards. We're all over the place over there and we'd love to have you (and anyone else who is interested) come over a join us.
Was meaning to post the link but looks like I need to go back and grab it again. Don't be a stranger! =)
Edited to add these links. Lots of us that hang out over there in general are many years post-op. I'll be 10 years out in December myself. I can't say strongly enough how much being around other WLS postops has contributed to my success and others feel the same. Come and have a look if you're inclined. It might even open up some new sources of info for you.

Also want to note that this board (Ontario)has just as many good ideas and experiences; sometimes though it helps to look through unfamiliar territory. If only to see the expanse of different experiences.
oh yea .. shoulda mentioned.. i too unfortunately had a regain.. but had some major changes last year.. hubby retired, had a grandson (that's a great change), quit my job, moved 3 hours away from my home town, then 2 weeks later my younger and only sister passed away suddenly... uggghh.. so of course, where did i find comfort... but upward and onward.. just gotta find a job and do something to get out of the house and away from the frig!!!
take care of you!!
