5.5w out. Almost constant nausea
Hi all,
wondering how normal it is to feel nauseous almost always? There are days when food goes down really well and I hit my protein goals and fluids easily. However probably 4 or 5 days out of 7 are hard. Nothing sits well. I can only manage a bit or two of things that have gone down really well in the past and then I feel like the food just can't go any further and the nauseous kicks into overdrive.
I haven't been weighed in 10 days but I was 48lb down since starting opti (31 since surgery) so the weight is going down I just feel like crap.
Ive tried just going back to full fluids and then purée but I have the exact same issues (doesn't help that I dump on every soup I've had since surgery no matter what the sugar/carbs/fat content is).
Im unsure if the fact I had a nasty car accident 2 weeks post op is contributing to the issues (banged my stomach on the steering wheel with a lot of force but CT scan was clear for damage) or if it's just rough going.

Call your surgical centre. They might want to investigate.
If nothing else perhaps a scope.
Are you on an acid reducer? One might help too. Start with a phone call.

I take Prevacid every day.
I have my follow up with my centre on Wednesday. I will ask them about it now. I've decided to start taking my vitamins at night rather than in the morning to see if that makes a difference.

Liquids are critical. Dehydration causes nausea.
Plus... Rapid weight loss can cause GB issues...and nausea due to that.

I had my gallbladder out in 2012 thankfully once less thing to worry about.
Im managing fluids most of the time with the occasional day of not getting enough but this really is occasionally.
