Gained weight
I gained 2 lbs since seeing the dietitian in February. Now I'm worried the surgeon won't allow me to have the surgery or I will have to do weeks of Opti. I see him Friday in Guelph. Looking for some hope!

I've heard Guelph can be pretty strict but they won't pull you from the program. A friend of mine had gained 7 lbs and was going through Guelph and they made her lose it and go back to see the dietitian.
2 lbs is not a lot... wait and see. That will be the worst case scenario. Good luck!!

I wouldn't worry too much I gained some weight but they weren't concerned, I was told the length of opti was based more on your starting weight I was close to 300 and had 3 weeks a friend was near 400 and did 4 weeks.
Once I was approved for surgery they seemed more concerned with lifestyle changes than scale numbers.

My weight can fluctuate by 5 lbs in any 48 hours. Water retention is real. Or BM or lack of it.
Some low carbs food, limiting salt, but making sure you have a good BM - should take care of that.
Plus - if you started new exercise program- muscles can retain water. Mine always do.

You are totally fine! I am pretty sure I gained weight as I was waiting for my surgery date, relax its all good.
They don't want you to gain weight on Opti if you do have to do Opti.
And Opti is based on your weight. So I was 275 lbs and I did two weeks of Opti, my friend was 335 and she did 3 weeks of Opti, if someone is in the 400lb range they will do 4 weeks of Opti.
I have heard some people don't have to do Opti (lucky them). But most of us do.
Opti is HARD, and I treated it like if I can do Opti drinking four shakes a day then I can do RNY no problem. But there were days in those two weeks I just wanted to say F-it I am done with Opti I want a slice of pizza or a cheeseburger but then I realized that if i cheat on Opti then i am going to cheat on my RNY it seemed dumb to not give it my all and stick to the plan.
Let us know what your surgery date is once you know tomorrow, excited for you!
