Pre-Op Nutrition Class Hamilton.
Hey guys! Just an update, if you need a refresher, I was the one with the incompetent Drs assistant *****ally struggled with my referral. Well it obviously went through, I went to Orientation on March 26th and just got my letter for my pre-op nutrition appointment on May 25th. It already seems to be moving fast. It was supposed to be a 6 month wait! Just excited and wanted to share as I already told my husband and now I'm out of people to tell!
Jess
That's so great Jess!
Things seem to be really happening fast in Hamilton lately. I had my Orientation in Hamilton July 2016 and didn't have my appointment for the pre-nutrition class until March 2017. I was told during Orientation that it would take from then to surgery 11/2 years...so to be told 6 months now is really fast. This is great news, but make sure you use the time to research, ask questions, and prepare. It's so important to know what the rest of your life is going to look like.
All the best to you during this exciting time of your life, and good luck on your journey!!
Barb

Thanks Barb! I am really investigating everything I can and I just completed something called "cravings change" which is a healthy eating group through my drs office. I've given up carbonation last week and I'm working on smaller portions right now! I'm a sponge!
Awesome!!

That is great. I was the same way. I read everything and researched and asked questions. This group is really good for that. When I attended that class in Hamilton the gave me my first set of appointment dates which were only a couple weeks away. It should start to speed up for you now. Good luck.

My only suggestion is to take your husband to the class with you if you can, mine couldn't come and was having a lot of trouble understanding the restrictions (not a big reader) so I took him to my one month follow up class and he's got a much better insight now even reminding me about measuring / watching amounts. Of course he's also seen my reaction when I accidentally eat too much or add too many new things. Tried 3 new foods at same meal on the week end, bad idea.
Things seem to be moving a lot faster in Ontario now, for me the long wait was good in that by the time it came around I was really sure I wanted to make this permanent change.
Good luck.
