I had such a hard recovery, I guess I am a whimp and don't like pain but man oh man I did not do well after surgery. I had a lot of pain and struggled to drink my liquids. I mean struggled! I spent many days in tears crying to my husband that I just can't do this. But I have to say I preserved and just got it done and here I am today happy and healthy. You can do it too.

It does take a while to find a comfortable sleeping position, it will come. Do you have a chair at home like a Lazy-boy chair that you can sit up/recline in to nap? If you are not drinking a lot you won't be peeing a lot.

You just had major surgery, being tired is the new normal. You have to go slow and rest a lot. I was tired for the first 3 months, it wasn't until then that I really found my groove with eating, drinking and vitamins.

Walking, walking, walking will help with the gas. I used to pace back and forth from my kitchen to the living room and back to help get the gas out, it is very painful but keep doing you walking and it will get out.

Hang in there, it gets better

Give yourself the time you need and I agree, home is much better. And getting out the gas, through burping or tooting, will make you feel better as well. When I eat a mouthful too much, even now, I start burping and show no shame - lol. Beats discomfort.

Best of luck with your recovery; you'll do well.

Not sleeping was really difficult for me, on top of the pain you don't sleep well and that just makes everything harder to deal with. In general things get better each day, I know it's hard to think that when each day is a struggle but it will improve. Fingers crossed for you that today was better and tomorrow will be even better.
