How much to eat?

I am...started at exactly two weeks, it was the first thing I ate. A tiny bit at first. They're very puréed so I thought I'd give it a shot. Some clinics say no because they can cause some people gas which is uncomfortable for fresh post-ops. But I had no problem...very small amounts first two times, 1/8th a cup. That said if you haven't been able to eat anything I don't know if I'd start with that. Have you tried Greek yogurt? Strained cream soups with unflavoured protein powder? Those were my main staples. Why aren't you able to eat anything?

I' just so sick nothing sounds good and everything I have tried either makes me sick or I have it over and over that I can't take it anymore. I think I now have a dairy problem profen shakes and drinks make me sick and yogurt even tho I liked it made me sick.

I am somewhat always nauseated at least a little. If not severely nauseated. It's been a huge problem. My biggest battle yet post op.

Ugh! Awful. Have you tried gravol? I totally know what you're talking about with the what you can have that you can't take it anymore. I was so there at the end of my fluids stage. Have you tried the syntax nectar protein shakes? They seemed to go down well for me, they are not heavy it's like juice. My local Popeyes store offered to order it in for me but I just grabbed some in the states. Maybe your local nutrition shop will order for you? Are you getting enough water? Not having enough water made me nauseous and light headed at one point.

If you're not drinking enough you really should go to hospital to get IV fluids as you won't be able to rehydrate yourself enough if you're already dehydrated. My clinic advised me it is difficult once you get behind on fluids to catch up because we can only take so much in at a time. They also mentioned your pouch tends to get swollen when there's not enough fluids so it's extra difficult to get much in. Maybe you should call your clinic in the morning.

I agree... you have to stay hydrated. That could be why you're feeling nauseous.

If you like yogurt but aren't tolerating it, it could be the lactose rather than the dairy. Have you tried lactose free?

Also, you may consider other protein sources like hummus and tofu. They are well tolerated early on by many.

Wishing you good health.
