Hello Everyone,

Completed my orientation yestersday at Humber. Presentation was great, only a couple of small points that I was not aware of going into the session as I had done a tone of research before hand.

I was told that now i have to wait 3/4 months before I receive a call with the dates of my next appointments. I hope that when i receive the call that i dont have to wait additional months for the actual appointments.

How soon can I call them and see if I can get on a cancellation list for the appointments?

Welcome, I too am going through Humber and you can see my timeline below. I could have had surgery in January but had to postpone due to work. It seems fast and slow at the same time. Make small healthy changes while waiting, the nutritionist and social worker will ask and they weigh you for every visit. If you can lose a bit it will help you get approved because they can tell you are serious about making changes. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Orientation July, Surgeon consult Sept, Internist Nov, RD/RSW/RN Dec.

Hi,

I would call as soon as you can as they don't have a "cancellation list" per say. If your schedule is fairly flexible, you should move along quite nicely.

Orientation- May 2017, Pre nutrition class- Aug 2017, Blood work- Aug 2017. RPN meeting- Sept 2017. Dietician and Psychiatrist Dec 2017. Internist- Dec 2017. Meet the Surgeon Feb 20th 2018. VSG surgery march 17, 2018 with Dr. Gmora

In Hamilton they told us that after orientation that our other appointments wouldn't be for 6 months, but I had a letter in the mail the very next week saying my next appointment was the following month. I think they prepare you for a worse case scenario. Doesn't hurt to call though. I just am trying to use the wait time to learn as much as I can and slowly change some habits.

I'm so glad orientation went well! Call when you're ready. The worst thing they'll say is they have no info and to wait. :)

Hi, I am going through Humber as well and you can check out my date lines below. I did call for cancellations fo the trio and internist appts and got lucky with dates that were a few weeks sooner. My time from orientation to surgery is less than 5 months- I didn't require any other follow ups or tests so that helps too. Take this time to study for the trio appt and really understand what your getting into. Good luck!!
